This is certainly better than passing off limited articulation on modern sculpts as "retro". Outside of the general appeal it holds for other collectors, what I find cool is that once they get lower in price it'll be an easy way to find repro accessories to fill in any gaps (with the bonus of a spare figure, cardback and fresh bubble I guess). I wonder how much this Hasbro release owes to the success of Super7's ReAction lines?

I’m really glad they were able to squash the beef. But why does T-bob have his hands in his pockets all the time? I really wondered if anyone would think 'bout Bob's arms (or lack thereof). I guess it's like an Agatha Christie tale. *Could that be part of Mayhem's apology? *Why is Mayhem reduced to public transport? *Is Ulk the Neanderthal really qualified to work with pre-schoolers? -------------------------------------------------------------------- Also I've been talking to Hondo about publishing that Erotic Coffee Table Art Book. He's hesitant. Particularly after 'Hondo Sweats', the photo collection of Hondo showcasing his own line of American knitwear. It wasn't as commercially successful as he'd hoped.

Wow. What a weekend. And week. And weekend again. Colour me busy. Was gonna' throw up a spread of my recent acquisitions in the approp thread but knowing I would hardly be home all week everything got quickly assigned into it's designated storage/display space with haste, then boom! - that's me straight back outta' the comfort zone. But, hey, I'ma make time for a Guardian Rider post, dangnabbit! Otherwise what's it all about? It's not the most pristine of condition, but then it's not a Jack Paar looking piece of bendy crap either, so there's something. Also my current mood and level of tiredness is: poorly taxidermied camel. As seen above, some plonker thought it would be a good idea to leave this, flap open, displayed in the sun for who knows how long. That's a bad idea anywhere, but a worse idea in NZ because we have a very crummy ozone layer. I'm not concerned about those aged dudes wandering around in Summer with bald-pates resembling the Eye of Sauron, they knew the score. But someone think of the action-figures, they have no voice of their own. Not too much damage done to the figure though. The upper legs are discoloured, and I totally don't mind. I'm pretty sure someone could empty half a spray-can of day glo orange onto this mad thing and it wouldn't change much. Fortunately the beast is fine. So, so fine. I always forget it has that whacky horned bird head above the scorpion face. Like, I turn away, turn back and it jumps out at me as if I'm seeing it for the first time. Every time. Big like Texan sky. Released by Son Ai Toys, made in Taiwan, 1986. FWIW. Did the Sectaurs have a deity? If not, it's here! If so, it can move over! There are multiple reasons this thing screams mythological being/god/goddess reminding me of Sth East Asian or maybe Hindu culture. Firstly that expression. So very NOT your ordinary household Sectaur. Nope, those're the eyes of a being that can turn your ass to liquid lightning with a snap of it's fingers. Aloofness and cosmic knowledge, it's all in there. Secondly straight up gender ambiguity. Sure that bod speaks tight man pecs, but it gives me uber pleasure to note that the facial sculpt is pulled straight from Sungold's Galaxy Adventure Girl. Namely Ventura. Man alive, I will take any weak reason to talk about Galaxy Adventure Girl, but that's a pretty good one. Third reason every self-respecting Sectaur should be kneeling before this thing any given Sunday morning? G Rider rides a scorpion. With wings. With a second head. Resembling an eagle. With horns. Which emits light. And G Rider does this standing. I dunno whether to display this in my room or hang it near the front door with the other Indonesian ornaments. God Ri ... sorry, Guardian Rider, stands atop it's mighty mount with the assistance of peg-holes in the feet and pegs on the beast's saddle. There's actually a peg on the outside of each foot, but I didn't find an obvious purpose. Did I mention the accessories are long gone? I can live with it. I care about giving this babe the right accessories as much as Donald Duck cares about pants. Least the sheath is intact. The emblem sticker sorta' speaks Voltron styles to me. But then again, I think about Voltron more than the average person thinks about sex. Yup. Chrome accessories, schrome schmaccessories. Gun and sword? No justice done. Rider needs those cosmic ham-fists full o' symbol and metaphor. Rockin' the ostrich feather and mallet this eon. Also that ain't a body shadow to the inner arm, that's a hollow. Good for incubating baby deities à la Jove bearing Mercury in his thigh. Aaaaand - I'm going to bed. Tase me if you need anything.

Lactose intolerance is one of those made up diseases from the late 90s, like restless leg syndrome. Crazy that no one farted from dairy product for the first 30000 years of civilized society. Soy Mammoths.

The parents of the lactose intolerant kids would have been out in full force if it used real milk. Very good point. Other people ... sometimes I forget they exist.

Forget Milky, here's Gobbles the trash eating goat... Oh, this one would confuse lil ones no end. If anyone has a stable awareness of the correlation between feeding an animal and making it poo, it's a toddler. This would just make 'em grow up thinking every goat has a colostomy bag.

Matthew McConaughey is starring in the upcoming Rockin' Rock biopic. Looked at some photos of the actual figure for Rockin Rick! Dude does NOT look as focused as he does in the advert. Think he's cocktailing. I remember we had this Kenner cow that you would put some undocumented white 70s powder and water in it, pump the tail, and then milk the rubber udder into a tiny metal bucket and you would get some non-potable chalky water. I found this toy fascinating for some reason. Between Duke, Daddy Saddle, and Milky the Cow, there were clearly some super doped up executives at Kenner in the 70s. It's plain cruel they made the cow juice non-consumable. What kid milking a toy cow gets to the end of the game then happily pours the fruits of their labour down the sink? No kid. You wait til Mumsy turns her back and you knock that pail back like a shotglass mix of vinegared chartreuse and dry wall. The fevered rash and twitching eye just add to the fun. Really though, could you not fill it with actual milk and then give it a thorough rinse after? Kenner weighed the risk of 'Mystery powder A' below minute traces of curdled milk I guess.

Wow, I was afraid something else was going to happen when you pumped his tail... You're thinking of the Kenner Bernie the Bull Animal Husbandry Adventure playset. They used the same white powder packets in those sets. Cool. I was about to go to bed. But I just can't let that be the last thought which pervades my dreams 😑

I love RDR, but I hit a rut and could never get off the train. I got to the engine once, but got killed there. I have some games that I got out of the box like 5x and even with instructions could not learn to do anything with them. I would tell you what they were, but they are still in boxes from the move and I have not gotten to that series of stacks yet. I'm looking forward to 'Revolver' for sure. After I finished 'Redemption', I stumbled across that and 'Gun' for Xbox. Didn't quite finish 'Gun'. Seeing the influence 'Revolver' and 'Gun' both had on 'Redemption' definitely made me appreciate what potential the western genre holds in modern gaming. Edit: I did think of one - Tom CLancy's Call of Duty. I spent most of the game laying on the ground and every time I could get to stand up 176 bullets hit me at the same time. I was dead... 😂😂😂 Also I lied - actually I can play sports games - those ones where you incessantly twiddle the joystick or buttons to own the Olympic gold. (just don't ask me to coordinate a team or set up a strategic play)

Couple Kenner ones from a beat up '77 ish of Twilight Zone. (I love you Rod Serling) Top police work here - just run 'em down! I quite like that a bank robber would be wearing a shirt that says 'crook'. Eat my ¢£°$#¿*s Evel Knievel! ROCKIN' RICK! is here to be forgotten. And he's thrashing 100% more guitars and moustaches. Ah 1977, what a time to be alive... ... I assume.

I have a lot of wrestling games as well as the baseball and football, but I do not always hit the multi button moves which make it difficult to win. You have to beat the computer opponent to death. I do not think I have bought any new games in the last 10 years as that was about the time the kids moved out and I graduated from playing in the living room to playing more with the computer in one pf the bedrooms converted to offices. I still have all the games and consoles and last tried to play one of the baseball games and Red Dead Revolver without much success just before we moved. I have RDR but still haven't actually played it. A couple years back my buddy came to visit, brought the latest NHL game with him. Needless to say it was a him (pro) versus me (whatever-ranks-below-amateur). My sole achievement was that I learned the word "deke". Last sports game I jammed was;

A lot of sports games, shooter games and strategy games were the main ones. I played baseball and football games to see how many runs or points I could score. I could play defense so well at one time that the other teams would not score on me and I was scoring 200 runs or 200 points a game. No Hitters or low hit games with 20 strikeouts were fairly common and in football, I generally could get a turnover before 4th down most of the time so it was a short field to get a touchdown, if it was not an interception for a TD. I played war games and Duke Nukem and some long, time consuming RPG's too. That is an odd video without sound. Ah, sports game, d'uh I sorta' forgot about sports game (due to the fact I suck badly at most of them). Sounds like you've got enough skill in that department for the both of us!! Gotta' love Duke. You play the old Apogee stuff, 3D, DNF? Or everything in between?

I keep meaning to post. It’s been a crazy month and a half. What ticks me off is I had an epic reply on rihia’s listens threads, had to close my laptop, and that was the one time it wasn’t saved in editor. Thanks a ton for depriving the world of my knowledge, proboards! Hmmm ... I did feel a great disturbance in the Force, as if hundreds of characters got typed out in a forum response and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.

I read every post, I do not necessarily listed on everything posted. I use my computer with the sound off. It started eons ago when I stayed up late playing video game well into the night while my wife slept. Except for the semi=occasional sound of the controller being slammed on the floor, it was pretty quiet. I do not have a beard and watched part of the video you posted and am glad the sound was off, LOL. So, mostly strategy games and RPGs? Driving games? Sound is such an integral part of the atmosphere in so many games, whaddya play? I ... can't really imagine that video clip from 'The Beards' out of context without sound. Awkward.

I've had a great run of picking up vintage horror comics lately. Always wanna scan the figure ads, but just don't get around to it. Action Attack Warriors and Biotron I don't remember being discussed here.

Two post on here (including this one) since 1/11 and two people signed on (including me) in the last 24 hours. Man. Well, there's 4 more posts (including this 'un) And I'm sure I threw another 1 in the 'current listens' thread. Do you sport a beard, FC? You'll suddenly want to if not, assuming you really do moderate every post.

Two post on here (including this one) since 1/11 and two people signed on (including me) in the last 24 hours. Man. Yeah, that's ... quiet. Last time I was on here I got all wordy and weird in the wee hours, so gave myself the brief red card (before you had to, FC) I mean it's one thing to languish in the 'off topic' sections indulging myself with bad music but condemning a complete stranger to virtual international Unclehood is probably pushing it. How's the move going anyways, FC? Are you looking to redisplay your figures as a top priority, or happy to keep 'em boxed n' archived?

... and because lifes ridiculous after I happened to post in a M.A.S.K. thread, I stumble across the M.A.S.K. Movie II VHS not even 30 minutes later (when I was actually looking for empty boxes in the garage). I'll chalk it up to a late Xmas miracle. I've never watched it, I'll put it on my to do list right? Boy howdy, it even has Goliath 1 on the cover art! I'm not sure if Matt's facial expression is selling it to me tho. Sorta' looks like he was halfway through a coffee and a bagel, suddenly needed to use the bathroom, then somebody started rolling camera. ... I will give Split Seconds 1 point for translucent figures (them's cool). But will deduct 1 point for Barracuda. Surely 2 unicycles woulda been better than that flimsy jet piece.

Aww, you guys are tearing me apart! Mostly cos I haven't as much experience with M.A.S.K. to form an educated opinion either way. I wish there was a quickfire decider where you both present a 02.30 minute YouTube vid of hands-on playability demonstrating your favourite M.A.S.K. toys. (But video quality & vocal "brrm brrm" noises don't count towards your final score). At the very least can we agree that Slingshot's pilot, Ace Riker has about the most enviable leather jacket of all 3" figures everywhere. (or I'm biased because I unintentionally cosplay as him on weekends) Anyways - get to making them YouTube vids, Bow & Thor - Spockoda can be judge, I'll be jury, and ... well, you all know Figure Collector.

I was going to post a pic but apparently Photobucket has decided to "go Hollywood" and want a monthly fee to host your pics so I guess I will have to try to find a free pic hosting site although I don't know of any off hand. Wha..? Pho-bucket still doing that stuff, thought it was fixed? Fixed for some, I guess, depending on space used? I use Imgur now. Nothing to write home about, but it's free, it works.

McFarlane. Star Trek. (Time was I couldn't have foreseen those words sitting comfortably together at all)
Yeah, McFarlane sorta' surprised me few years back when they came out with Walking Dead & Guitar Hero figures, kinda' reigning in the focus or something. Begrudging respect for McF, after getting through the "extreeeeme 90s" and the "dark, edgy 00s" they're making some kinda' ... compromise, maybe? Reaching a wider audience with their license choices and figure style, perhaps? They'll always have that legacy echo of "doing their own thing", which, ignoring the actual plastic results that came from it, is a commendable foundation.

Glad to hear you're still picking up stuff here and there. I am pretty certain Aqua's got his trident - but yeah, strange not to give GL any accessories. DC Multiverse in general seems all over the place, like really random selection, but I mean that in a good way.
I casually picked up Hawkman (Legends of Tomorrow version) even though I don't dig his look in the show, I thought it translated well as a figure. Heck, with added wingspan, Hawkman always looks good as a toy. I would have positively pounced on a Super Friends version of Hawky. I saw a Dark Knight Returns Joker where I shop too, (tempted) but the articulation cuts just do not work with the white monkey-suit.
What were the 3.75 figures that are piquing your interest at the moment?

Last night thought briefly about Snoke, as you do, basically stopped to think, "he's an iconic enuff dude to own as an action-figure". So today, after a way too grown-up, messy, noisy work-day; took a quick detour on the chance of snagging a Snoke off the rack at my local store. Only wanting 3.75" soft-goods version (Vintage Collection). Expected nothing. Surprised to find two hanging. So grabbed the one with less curved card, then thought, "eh, might as well check the eyes/paint against the other". (sure we all know how that goes with modern Hasbro stuff) I settled on the left one, more sorta' 'deformed brain-addled evil'. The right one seemed too ... keen, even if the color-wash brings something out. Pretty distinctly different head deets going on there at any rate! Am I right to suspect the darker version on the right is the style used for the Force Link 2.0 version?

Sorry, buddy. I only ever scored Cheetara and Panthro from this line, I had the opportunity to get the Castle of Omens but passed it up due to space restrictions. If I do ever have it pass through my hands, I'll definitely scan and upload it. (Might happen) but good luck searching meantime.
