I wasn't quite sure about the McFarlane Captain Kirk figure from online pics I had seen but I was meandering around a Walgreens last week while I was on vacation and happened upon one and I liked it enough to go ahead and pick it up after seeing it "in the flesh". I was going to post a pic but apparently Photobucket has decided to "go Hollywood" and want a monthly fee to host your pics so I guess I will have to try to find a free pic hosting site although I don't know of any off hand. I'm curious as to how far this McFarlane Star Trek line will go. i.ibb.co/v4j5xHC/SAM-2484-2.jpg

McFarlane seems to be on an upswing lately, what with them actually producing stuff with articulation and all that. These looked pretty good to me, but I’d worry about QC issues, as in frozen joints, limbs snapping off. That was a complaint with the similarly constructed Stranger Things figures.

McFarlane. Star Trek. (Time was I couldn't have foreseen those words sitting comfortably together at all)
Yeah, McFarlane sorta' surprised me few years back when they came out with Walking Dead & Guitar Hero figures, kinda' reigning in the focus or something. Begrudging respect for McF, after getting through the "extreeeeme 90s" and the "dark, edgy 00s" they're making some kinda' ... compromise, maybe? Reaching a wider audience with their license choices and figure style, perhaps? They'll always have that legacy echo of "doing their own thing", which, ignoring the actual plastic results that came from it, is a commendable foundation.

Wha..? Pho-bucket still doing that stuff, thought it was fixed? Fixed for some, I guess, depending on space used? I use Imgur now. Nothing to write home about, but it's free, it works.

I will look into that. I don't really want to pay over $50 a year just to have my pics hosted, I could use that money for better purposes than that.

Not a huge fan of the guy's personality or comics contributions (although his art has been forever on point and extremely intricate--speaking more of his writing, I suppose), but it's weird to see him just now catching up to the adult collector figure industry he basically created in terms of engineering and articulation, while still retaining the excellent sculpts they've always been known for. Likenesses of actors and such have likewise seemed to improved over the years from the hit or miss portraits from ye olde Movie Maniacs series and whatnot.
