Interesting, thanks. It's the second time I've seen this axe show up with a bunch o' vintage MOTU.

So there was an animated Monkey-Magic in the '90s?, right. I missed that somehow. And then the original chinese series. Two differing toy options there. I really liked the original show but was pretty young, so most of it went right o'er my head. Staff the weight o' the moon behind ear, cloud riding, Pigsy, fish-shaman guy. That's mostly all I remember. Now's the question: does anyone remember the Commodore 64 game?!

One tres awesome show! I couldn't get enough of it ... literally. Then poof, it just vanished. A few o' my friends watched it. But basically no-one I know now remembers it. The show deserves more credit. I wouldn't consider it a knock-off, I think it had it's own legs. It just missed the mark ... somehow.

Hey, thanks, Grizz! Massive help. That pretty much puts me at ease. Reckon I can rest easy wit' da idea it just happens to be an odd paint batch. Maybe they ran outta' brown that day. I quite dig it though. Guess there is a lot of variation out there, as one o'my Fisto's hair hue comes somewhere slap bang in-between these two colours. Thanx 'gain

So Hong Kong printed on the fist, and not the body, still just makes it HK right? Head is soft, and doesn't look diff' to usual apart from th' obvious.

Boots and belt a slightly darker bluey-purple, not black however. Any hints on the best way to assess if paint is factory original? I might post more pics but thats no help to prop'ly analyze. If anyone customized it they did an incredible job, and between the junk store I scored it from and it's years o' dust, I don't see why they'd bother. There's no damage to the 'hair sculpt'. No other paint layers. Shrug, I'm stumped.

Picture shelves of dusty VHS tapes, racks of audio cassettes, huge garish earrings, movie posters with Macaulay Culkin and Ted Danson, pink backpacks. No action figures ... all this in a tired forgotten New Zealand town.

'Grey hair' has HongKong printed on his fist rather than his back, the fist has a different shinier plastic and less detailed sculpt than my other Fistos.

Yeah, that's what my girlfriend thought. I'm kinda split down the middle on it though. Photo never as easy to inspect as real thing. The paint looks like the first application especially round the ears n' neck. Jury's out, the more I inspect it the more perplexed I get haha.

No markings to back o' pack, no dates anywhere I can see. From an old shop called Jim's Collectibles ... bless ya, Jim. Jim basically has all the musky unwanted leftovers from 1981 - 1990. This is the only thing I wanted from his store. The rest is truly junk, I'm amazed he can afford to stay open!

Down at my local junk shop the other day, where I get mostly weird generic MOTU KOs. Anyway noticed a Fisto hanging up, nothing special but then I thought, "hmm, his hair looks different to how I remember". Last thing I need is another Fisto on the shelf, but he's grown on me with his greying look, just thought I'd get opinions on this variant...

MOTU minis, v cool. I only have standard size KOs and a Baltard style clip-on. (pic in different thread) But on the subject of Other World, found what looks like a Baby Gaifand KO. It has th' same details as Gaifand, the horns, heads, tail, arms & legs are based the same. But it has no manufacturer name just an eagle logo, and Hong Kong. I'm sure some of my other figures have an Imperial 'crown' logo with an 'eagle' next to it. So maybe it's Imperial. Attachments:

Here's a Baltard-headed variation I picked up in a junk shop. (Baltard-headed: that should be in the dictionary). This, the four turtles, and an ALF are all the clip-ons I have nowadays. Attachments:

Indiana... Indiana... let it go.
(but I totally sympathize, y'know I can so well picture this ugly tank from what you've described, it's creepin' me out.)
