What are some of your favorites? I have two favorites which i'm sure are very popular among vintage collectors.

A few I would have to go with are:
MOTU Eternia Crystar Crystal Castle Blackstar Ice Castle Buck Rogers Starfighter Command Center
There are so many cool playsets out there. I just wish I had the space to buy more of them. From the above, I only own Eternia.

As a child, I really loved my Ewok Villiage and Boulder Hill. As a collector, I'd have to say Manglor Mountain, The USS Flagg and Crystal Castle.

I love the Turret/Probot set from star wars, that giant gun looked so cool. I also got alot of use out of my imperial attack base when I was a kid.

I had a mail-in cardboard Transformers playset when I was a kid, but I've never been able to find it online. The only one I've found online is very different. Mine had a red window on the front where you could insert the tech spec and see the specs. It was pretty damn cool, I just wish I could find one now.

That's cool but not the one that I had.The one that I had, the box top (large & rectangular) was the actual bottom of the HQ but it was raised by square shaped cardboard pillars to make it 2 levels. It was BIG & had details on the inside & out, so that it was a 3-d type playset.I know that it came out during the Gen 1 TF days.I'm not a TF collector but I got it for x-mas in 84 or 85,,,not too sure which.I gave it a ton of play & had it re-enforced with clear tape. But as all paper based bases go in the hands of children, it eventually met it's end.I haven't seen one since.

Anyone have pics of the other S.T.A.R.S. version? Could it possibly have been a knock-off type of playset like what was put out during the vintage Star wars run?

I'm not 100% sure but I think it had the Transformers name on the box. Found some pics...Here's the link. www.toyarchive.com/Transformers/NovAutobotHeadquarters.html

Yes, I think it was a mail away. I also really like the Sears cardboard GI Joe and Star wars playsets - Cobra Missile Command Centre, Cloud City Playset and the Cantina Cafe Adventure set. I know they are just cardboard but they are pretty cool.

I've always been a huge fan of action figure playsets (particularly from the 1980s), and am on the hunt for more acquisitions. I've acquired most of the ones I've wanted, so I'd love it if members could post some of the better playsets that I should be on the lookout for.
Here are the great playsets I own:
Diaclone Great Robot Base GI Joe Defiant (Booster shuttle and Crusader only) GI Joe Mobile Command Center GI JOE R.O.C.C. Justice League Watchtower Masters of the Universe Castle Greyskull Masters of the Universe (new) Castle Greyskull Secret Wars Tower of Doom Starcome Mobile Action Pods (all) Starcom Starbase Command Starcom Starbase Station Star Wars AT-AT Star Wars Millenium Falcon Star Wars Royal Starship Super Powers Hall of Justice
Playsets I want:
Diaclone Fortress X GI JOE Terrordrome
Playsets I don't want:
Batman Forever Batcave Diaclone Power Bases Gi Joe Headquarters GI Joe USS FLAG Masters of the Universe Eternia Mego - any of them She-Ra castles Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (old) Sewer Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (old) Technodome Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (new) Sewer Thundercats Lair Voltron Castle of Lions
What would you add to this list?

well I was going to say the thundercats lair but you dont want it so I'm going with my second choice. The huge Sectaurs Hyve. This is huge when I got mine I was blown back by the size.

IMO the best playset ever is the classic Masters of the Universe Castle Grayskull. It was sturdy, big and allowed plenty of cool thing to happen in it. I still have one and my nephew always want it!
On the playset I don't have but that I found pretty cool I would say...
- Coleco RAMBO S.A.V.A.G.E headquarter, this one look pretty big and catch the feel of 1980's action film perfectly
- I remember one of my friend had the AD&D Dungeon playset (forgot the actual name) and it looked pretty good and was pretty fun to play with.
I also have the Hoth playset from Star Wars, the simple one with the turret and Probe Droid. I always found use for a defense turret when playing as a kid, and many action figure have used it!

I don't really have the space for playsets these days, but Star Wars Death Star, The Other World Castle Zendo and Mobile Action Command Rescue Center playset all get my vote.
Love to see some good pics of the Diaclone Great Robot Base, I've always liked the look of that.
