IThe Other World Castle Zendo Ah, it's been a while since I owned that one. I always liked using it as the front wall to a large fortress/barricade, but the playset itself just felt like a cheap Castle Greyskull (which it pretty much was). Still, might be fun to have again if I ever find a place that has it... I'd post some, but you can see much higher quality ones at www.robotjapan.com

well I was going to say the thundercats lair but you dont want it so I'm going with my second choice. The huge Sectaurs Hyve. This is huge when I got mine I was blown back by the size. What did you like so much about the Lair? It never looked like much in the pictures. Am I overlooking something? Don't know anything about the Hyve. Do you know where I could find pics? - Coleco RAMBO S.A.V.A.G.E headquarter, this one look pretty big and catch the feel of 1980's action ilm perfectly - I remember one of my friend had the AD&D Dungeon playset (forgot the actual name) and it looked pretty good and was pretty fun to play with. Intriguing. I don't know either of those. Will have to do an ebay search. I had this one for a while because it looked promising, but it ended up boring me. It didn't seem to have much potential for play (which is what I'm all about). I liked displaying my imperial officers there, but that was about it.

yeah thats all of it. it's flat on one side but its pretty cool. It looks just like the show on the inside so that is a huge plus IT is huge though

As far as the Cats lair. I really only like it cause I am a huge Thundercats fan. But it does have interactive lasers with one of the vehicles it came with and some of the laser sabers. It has a working jail etc. But it would have been better if the paws could fit the thundertank inside of them. But then it would have been huge and expensive.
I think the Silverhawks playset would have been sweet if it had been produced

I always liked the mini Thundercats Lair. I just wish they'd blown that one up to scale.
As for the Silverhawks lair, I really don't remember much about their HQ, so I have no idea how it would have translated into a playset. All I remember is the exterior and the little flight training room where Bluegrass and Copperkid delivered the day's lesson at the end of each episode.
Incidentally, has anyone ever seen Mumra's tomb playset outside of the box? I always wondered what that one was like.

I always wanted the FLAGG. That seemed like it would be the greatest ever in terms of figure play. It was so big!!!! I have the Hyve, it's pretty good. And I like the Blackstar castle I have, but there is something classic about Castle Greyskull. I have that, and it still stands above the others. As far as Star Wars, I always really liked the Hoth playset. I loved hitting the button to have part of it blow up. That was one of my favorites!!

The AD&D Fortress of Fangs is super-duper-awesome!!! Cool gimmicks, a totally unique design. Looks good with all sorts of fantasy figs displayed on it: he man, AD&D, crystar, 5" Power Ranger villains...
Thruster- evil Go-bots command center.
If you have the 'new' castle grayskull, a 'battle station' was released that's actually another wall for Grayskull. Pretty cool idea...

So many playsets.......so hard to choose a favorite:
1. Fortress of Fangs 2. Dagobah 3. Snake Mountain 4. Boulder Hill 5. Eternia
No particular order. To be honest...I never actually had Eternia(one of the only things I was missing) but my buddy did who just happened to live 2 houses down. That thing was massive. Very jealous....lol.

For me it has to be, hands down G.I. Joe U.S.S. Defiant (and a close second would be Microman Build Base).
Yours??
Also- do you think anyone can pull off another U.S.S. Defiant these days??

I love playsets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All the 80`s ones are really cool. The only ones from recent years that were any good were the new turtles sewer and the batcave.
The best playset in my opion is probably Boulder Hill, but they were all so cool

Casthe Grayskull is both indestructible (apart from some extras part around) and is a freaking castle with a skull face with a mouth as jawbridge. And it's made to house barbarian in fur undie, robot, amazons and skeleton guys.
In my book it's pretty hard to top, but indeed Northwind has a point that the Ewok village was grand. Point also to the massive S.AV.A.G.E. Strike headquarter from RAMBO and Transformers Metroplex.

As a kid, there were two that blew me away. The first was the Star Wars Death Star playset. I remember opening that on x-mas morning along with with several figures and the landspeeder. I was so pumped. The next would be the G.I.Joe headquarters. Again, another x-mas gift. It was so cool. I'll never forget the Star Wars x-mas or my two G.I.Joe x-mas's.
The biggest disappointment would have to be the Super Powers Hall of Justice or Castle Grayskull. They were both so boring.

I liked Castle Greyskull as well, I also really liked the GI Joe Battle platform that sat in the water. We had some good fights with that thing and our joes. Last but not least, I really enjoyed the Boulder Hill playset from MASK. Simple, yet cool. My brothers and I fought over that one all the time.

Super Powers Hall of Justice all the way. Great usage of space and eye-catching primary colors.
Runners up for me would be Secret Wars Tower of Doom (very cool features), Bionic Six Secret Headquarters (also a great and original use of space/layout), Starcom Headquarters (great features), Star Wars Royal Starship (great layout), and the MOTU Castle Greyskull (just a true classic).

Wheres the Secutars Hyve, is it not as cool as it looks in pictures, does nobody have one or does it just get blown away by the others mentioned.
The only playsets I had as a kid were the TMNT sewer and I had some sort of G.I. Joe vehicle that folded down I'm goint to have to look that up and see what it was called.
Edit: it was called the "Mobile Command Center" no wonder I couldn't remember the name of it. Anyway that thing is getting my vote.

It really is pretty impressive! It reminded me to tell my mom thanks for all the cool toys I had as a kid, I'm always busting her chops for not getting me the U.s.s. Flagg but the Mobile Command Center is almost as cool. Plus I had one playset at least for each of the major lines I had as a tyke.

Still sounds to me like you ended up with a lot of cool stuff. All I was left with were my Super Powers figures. Everything else went bye-bye. Of course, I've bought nearly all of it back in the past few years

The one playset I wanted to get as a kid, but never did after I found out they're gone was the Eternia Playset. I have been thinking of getting one right now, but realized on the going rate for it. I am unwilling to spend $1500 for a complete set.
