Just got in a loose Transformers Wildrider Stunticon i won on Ebay, that the guy charged me $11 to ship. When it came in, the postage was only $1.85. What an a-hole, I gave him the benifit of the doubt that maybe he would send priority, have to buy a box, etc. but he didn't. I filed an excess shipping charge against him as he had the excuse "I charge more for International because i have to fill out forms and go to the Post Office to mail it". He had a $6 shipping cost for US bidders which I was happy to pay, but $11 is bullshit. I forsee a negative feedback snipe in the future!!!!

But there is absolutely no way I'm paying $25 for shipping on something he should be able to ship for $6! Damn straight man. If I wasn't unsure of the profanity clause to the board I'd have a lot more to say Hopefully eBay will see it your way. You do have the original e-mail with his $11 quote right?

Hopefully I'll win a Hot Topic Series 2 Gir that's up for auction. The guy thinks he's slick posting it with a Buy It Now of $16, the retail price, but charging $9 to ship the damned thing. I just paid $9 in shipping for something online. 2 bottles of wine, from California!! A company that I'm sure is in need of payment for the employee(s) boxing their stuff, shipping supplies, etc.. He even has the balls to say he has a hectic schedule and can only ship on Saturday. I bid only up to $12 though. With the $9 shipping it'd come to what I would pay retail w/ normal shipping. Let's see if I get lucky.

Here is the thread with the link to do it. They don't ask for any anformation other than the auction number so I'm not sure how effective it is. Thanks for the link 10incher. However, rather than just look at the auction, they need to let you submit evidence during the process of notifying them of the excessive charges. Like a pic of the package w/ the drastically lowered shipping, or a screencap of an e-mail that might show foul play. Their current system seems to stink.

Hopefully eBay will see it your way. You do have the original e-mail with his $11 quote right? You bet! The guy even sent his shipping quote through the eBay message system. All the cards seem to be stacked in my favor, but with ebay ... you never know. If ebay does rule in my favor, the guy will probably send me an empty box.

i can't stand when the same seller sells parts of figures and not just parts i mean parts for one guy sold separately what is with that? it.s a shameless way to make money! i could understand selling parts if you have parts but breaking up a complete figure to make money shameless!

You can often make more money by selling the accessories separately than by selling a complete figure. A lot of buyers only need a piece or two to complete a figure and rather buy just the needed accessory than buy a completed figure. Realize that a Seller's goal is to make money.

Here is what I do:
-every sale comes with a $3.00 U.S. handeling charge.
-every sale gets charged extra on shipping (whatever it is in Canadian I make it in U.S. dollars, so I make exchange on top of the sale).
So I make about 4 U.S. per sale. The shipping in U.S. is a hidden charge and the $3 U.S. handeling is listed under the discription.
Hows that?
Some side notes...I package my stuff above and beyond the call of duty, triple bagging accessories and such. I even get good feedback about the good packaging my items come with. I have never had one complaint about my handeling fee or the cost of shipping. My ebay feedback is at 459 with 3 negs from non-paying bidders!

I bought this lot of figures over the weekend. Before I bid, I asked the seller if any of the figures were broken or had chew marks. The seller replied that they were used. I asked again if any of them were broken or had chew marks. I didn't get a reply back. Well, I ended up bidding and winning this auction. The box arrived today and Hydraz and Craven had broken legs. There was absolutely no packaging material in this box. All the figures were in one large zip-loc back, and there was a lot of extra room in the box. Also, Tongo's legs were glued on. I complained. They replied that the lot was sold as is, broken figures were shown in the picture, and none of the figures would have broken during shipment. They offered me a $2.50 refund. Insulting! I replied back that either she posed the two broken figures to look intact for the picture, or they broke during shipment. This person has a feedback of 1600 with no negatives. How can this be? I asked for either a $5 refund or I would be returning the lot. Sellers these days!

Thats crappy Sanfords, and it looked like a nice lot of figures from the pic The guy who sold me the Thunderwings said he would give a full refund including shipping if I sent it back. I don't think I will bother as i don't want to risk being out the money and the toy as i don't trust the guy. I guess i should have read through his feedback more. The wings not totally broken off just cracked and bent, so i guess i can live with it. He will be getting a negative though.

On another note, I won theis Roboforce playset and paid for it back on August 20th for $20 Never did recieve it. The guy answered my emails a few times early on and said he would look into it, then ignored me for the next month or so. I filed a claim with Paypal and Ebay and finally he sent me a full refund today with no argument. Now come on, you can't tell me that a package that large got lost in the mail. Probably he was unhappy with the ending price being so low and didn't even bother to ship it. BAH! I wanted that playset!

Looks like a nice playset. It's not from a popular toy line so there probably aren't too many out there, especially MIB. Let's go on a road trip. I'll stop by and pick you up on Sunday, and we can drive from Seller to Seller picking up the stuff they never sent us or beating the @#&! out of the ones who sent us crap!

That would be sooooo satisfying I just had a guy charge me $19 to ship one MOC figure from the US to Canada. When it came, it only costed him $4.95. I figured shipping was so high because he said he was going to send it Global Priority (which he didn't). I dropped him a note asking for a bit of a refund, I guess we'll see what happens.

I always dreamed of a toy only auction site that was well known to people, but sadly the best auctions on the net are the ones where "Mom" is getting rid of her kids old toys, because she knows nothing about what she is selling, maybe a Toy only auction site would work, but you would have to advertise like a madman, ,,, but sadly I think it would have the same problems

Had the same thing happen to me. Thought I got a deal on a figure but the shipping was about $10. When it was delivered it had cost them .68 cent ...what the crap.

I can't stand when they grossly misrepresent an item and then dont get in contact with you when you email them. This just happened to me with a Thundercats Lynx-o with eyes moc. I was going to get it graded and when I got it the whole left side and top of the bubble had lifted. I think I'm done buying on ebay it seems like a lot of sellers are like this (or maybe its just the ones I deal with)

8 out of 10 items i buy from ebay are mispresented, but usually I solve the problem with the seller, or when it just even slightly can be seen in the picture (while not mentioned) and i missed it then I blame myself.
People who aren't collectors I don't blame, that are the lots when they don't know what they sell, but however when figs are clearly broken upon receipt and this couldn't be seen in the pictures or wasn't mentioned I do blame them and ask for a restitution.
Last time I bought a fig (horde trooper) with the complete back missing, this couldnt be seen and wasn't mentioned. I paid more on shipping than on the fig but the guy only wanted to refund when i send the item back, what a joke, then I had to pay shipping twice and still would be left with nothing. But i don't give a negative because you always get it back, however you aren't to blame (hell you pay your money on time and get a broken fig and then you will get a negative for what??? paying on time??, that are times i wanna get in a plane and look that person up and shove his stuff down his throat).
I do get pissed when people rip me off who know what they are talking about but just forget to mention something because it just slipped there minds.
But this doesn't only happen to me on ebay, 9 out of 10 times i get crap when buying things from a local selling site here in holland. last time i bought defenders of the planets and some other ko's beautiful pictures all were placed on beasts, i paid a shitload for them and then they get here, boom drops of an arm, and all figs couldn't even stand, broken rubbers, or pants that was so shit never heard from that person again, while in the past i sold him good stuff and we got a long just fine and then you get screwed over like that.
But i still keep continuing buying at both only everytime with greater care and more questions upfront, the times that i get good stuff still make it worthwhile and from the broken stuff i use parts.

Most of my auctions are listed with minimal information as I assume if you have a question the picture can not answer then you will ask.
I have never had a problem as I take very good pictures. One thing is I never list what the item isn't. So if it isn't complete I do not say.........if your collecting these types of items then you should know by the picture?!??!?!?!!?!??!
This, I believe, helps the items sell and sell for more. The more negative words, like damaged, incomplete and so on you use the less you get.....................so without misrepresenting the item I do not go over board in a description.

spillspleen, common it sells better but you don't make friends keep this up and you loose every buyer. I always mention every small detail, if you know it you should tell it, don't say it can be seen on a pic thats weak, just think of such a thing happening to you. but now i know not to buy from you because you aren't honest (in my eyes because you know and don't tell) in your listings, sorry but on my blacklist you go, no hard feelings. i don't wanna make money this way.

I'm with Drekkus on this. I list everything that I can think of with my auction and if it doesnt sell as well. Well that's life as long as I was honest and trying to help the buyer out as best as I can.

I never sell like the seller who listed a horde trooper with no back, I would take pictures of the figure front and back and leave it at that............anyone who would see these pictures would then see he is incomplete. Just like you say here...if you miss it then you should blame yourself...... About the rest of your coments you have a point, to a certain (anal) extent, but it has not hurt my sales at all. ..and again I have never had a problem, here is my proof, 460+ positives and 700+ sales (so alot of repeat buyers) thats only in the last year that I have been selling on ebay. And thanks for letting me know a little about yourself as I do not want to sell to any one who is so out to lunch they would 'blacklist' me over a single post. I have always done well on eBay by somehow avoiding guys like you! ;D ...o no hard feelings!!!!!!!!!!!
