I just saw online the new Wal-mart exclusive Monkeywrench. They just repainted Outback's head, I think I'm gonna pass on him and just use my DTC Monkeywrench. I like the re-useing of the heads gives it the crappy feel of the vintage . I hate the DTC stuff . I have cases of figures I never even opened ...blah .

I don't know what it is about the DTC line, a lot of them did suck, but I LOVED their version of Major Bludd. So much in fact, that I never got any of the 25th Bludds, I just use the DTC figure. I love his removeable helmet and weapons, and he just looks really imposing. I also think the DTC SAW Vipers look pretty cool, but I don't have any.

I am kinda glad the classic stuff is going on somewhat of a hiatus in favor of the movie line so I can have time to sort of catch up on Joe team items. Although there is an upcoming Joe 7 pack that I guess will be an online exclusive, although I don't know exactly who's exclusive it will be yet plus Wal-Mart exclusive figures(?).

I poked around online and saw the Wal-Mart 2 packs. I'll probably take a pass on them. I do want that 7 pack however!

Hey, this thread is a "rant" so I'm just gonna keep going. Another thing I didn't get was that purple Iron Grenadier from the Toys R Us 3 pack. The set came with Destro, an Iron Grenadier, and this goofy, purple Iron Grenadier repaint! I would have purchased it if the set had Destro and 2 of his original Iron Grenadiers, if they had a 3 pack with 3 Iron Grenadiers I would have grabbed up every one I saw. Hasbro did make up for it with that Viper/ Iron Grenadier Comic Pack. Finally, a troop builder 2 pack!

How about the TRU Air Command three pack with the lame Wild Bill repaint? And why didn't Hasbro put Sky Striker as the pilot of the Tiger Rat instead of yet another Wild Bill?

At least with the 6 packs at least. They cancelled the 3.75 line then decided after ppl cried the blues they were gonna do them to small brick and mortar stores . Whatever Hasbro , spin it whatever way you want ...you bunch of indecisive hacks.

What the heck was up with that!? That was the 4th Wild Bill they made! They haven't even made his helicopter yet, and they made 4 of him!!! Wild Bill is a freaking HELICOPTER pilot! The original Tiger Rat pilot had Wild Weasel's body from the neck down, why didn't Hasbro do that again? I know originally Wild Bill was supposed to be in the original Tiger Force, there was a picture of one in a trade magazine back in the day. This just must be a nod to that, fine, then release him with the Tiger Force helicopter!

I got stuck with several DTC cobra saw vipers and cobra troopers. I only really wanted one of each but when I ordered them online I got greedy.... As for the new stuff I am not getting any of the big items....well except for the rattler. I loved the window box look...o...then I did get the ultimate battle pack as well......so thats everything for big items except for the conquests and tiger rat.....! I am wondering is the line at an end because of the new movie and its figures? Blowtorch and the Torch are the last figures...and the cobra island joes and thats it?!?!?!

Last I heard, the Anniversary line will be on hiatus for the summer. They want to make room on the shelves for all the Movie and Resolute stuff. That 7 pack of Cobras will tide me over for a while, that's for sure. I have been really critical of Hasbro in this thread, but I have no problem with the above 7 pack! I think Hasbro will still sneak classic stuff out once in a while, like those Wal Mart Exclusives we were talking about earlier. They're called off screen battles, so we're going to be seeing classic Joes who weren't in the movie. Which hey, is as close to the Anniversary stuff as you can get.

So what is the status with the Anniversary line? After the movie comes out, will the Anniversary line continue? I hope so, I have really been enjoying these joes... and can't wait to see what comes out next!

25th is over since they went to the non-silver cards . They are still going to be releasing figures but they are going to be on Rise of Cobra cards. It's pretty lame. I was hoping to get some time off from buying them .

So Meatybat, what do we call these new Gi. Joes? How do we distinguish them from 25th Anniversary? They set themselves apart from other "new" Gi. Joes because of all the new sculpts and poseability. There was SpyTroops, Valor vs. Venom, DTC, and of course the Resolute and upcoming Movie stuff, what the heck do we call this in between stuff? I'm still gonna refer to it as 25th unless anyone has any better ideas.

There have been tons of product leaks from China that are Joe non-movie related product. But Hasbro's official stance is BS. They are trying their best to redirect all Joe interest to the movie product. So although so much 25th Ann (Joe vs Cobra) as well as Resolute items have already been made they are holding them all back, claiming the product is cancelled or delaying it indefinitely.

Greetings,
I went to Target today... walked down the toy isle and found that the 25th Anniversary GI JOE action figures were on sale! The figures were marked down to $3.48/ea.
I put two Cobra Flint(s) in my basket, then thought about it, and then put one back... I only need one, and no use in wearing a duche-cape for the day.
Just thought I would make the announcement for those who are looking for a deal or looking to do some custom work on their joes...
My girlfriend said that they were probably clearing out the area for a new arrival/shipment... which makes sense.
Any thoughts or ideas on the slim pickin's at the store?

I just got The Viper / Iron Grenadier 2 pack at Target the other day, it was a little over $6, half off! It was the last one they had. It's going on sale to make room for the movie stuff.

That's the impression I got... is that Target is making room for the Joe movie toys....
Transformers didn't disappoint, I hope I can say the same about the Joe movie.
Looking forward to working on my Joe/Cobra dioramas, but space is always an issue...

I am using foam core and resin clay to work on two projects right now... a cobra base, and an art museum playset (don't ask) that will be shown in August.
Space is crucial... so I am downsizing toys that I am kind of feeling "eh" about... and just focusing on a few lines... including recently acquiring He-man MOTU series... can't wait to work on displaying those guys...
Funny thing is that I use toys in my art... studying, modeling and using as references... I ve accumulated so much... time to downsize and limit myself to collect the "must haves" only... as you said it... until that house happens.

I know what you mean. A couple of years ago I sold about 70% of my collection on ebay, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I kept all of my vintage Star Wars but sold all the new POTF 2 crap from 1995 on. I kept my Super Powers collection but sold all of the other Superhero stuff, and so on. I used the $ to buy some of the harder to find things I was looking for, and even got some of my rarer pieces AFA graded. There's so much stuff out there, you can't have it all, I think it's best to just keep the stuff you really like.

That's exactly what I am doing! Just going through stuff and weeding out stuff. It feels good to do this, but also I think it is making me a better collector for establishing a more discerning taste and raising the caliber of my collection.
I keep asking myself what is it that I exactly want... In fact, this is fueling my recent downsizing of my Transformers to only the very few I really want. Up next I am going to do this to my Joes...
Your right, I think I will feel better after purging the collection... that way I can enjoy what I have, but more so go after very specific things for my collection. Thanks for the understanding and support!

I wanted to let everyone know that while I was in Cleveland Ohio I noticed that Marshalls was carrying the GI JOE 25th Anniversary 1st & 2nd DVD packs with figures & MASS Device parts. Came back to San Jose Cali. and sure enough Marshalls had the 3rd DVD packs with Alpine. Pretty cool sets marked in OH at $14.00 and CA at $16.00.

I finally found the Serpentor DVD set at Marshalls, but I'm still looking for the Best of 80's set. Word on the street is that the Resolute 5 packs are popping up at Marshalls as well.

@ Beck, I have seen the Resolute 5 pack... they also seem to have individual Joe figures but they appear to come with no weapons and a smaller card. At $3/ea I didn't think it was a deal... actually, when going to Marshalls... I didn't buy anything, (trying to cut down as well as space is an issue), but definitely thought I would share info since I still enjoy the hunt.
