Hi! I'm very new to this wonderful forum. I am, myself, a huge toy collector. My every-time favorite toys of all are those that represent steeds, creatures or any kind of animal what-so-ever. Visiting this site, I have been wondering: why aren't there any "My Little Pony" ponies, here? Can't they be considered as action figures? If not, is there any special reason?

Since there are MOSTLY male collectors here, I think that's a good reason why most don't post about ponies. Also to be considered an action figure it really has to have some sort of moving parts. Ponies for the most part are static or non-moving. Only recently with the new ponies do they have moving necks, but I would say they are not action figures. BTW my wife collects ponies so I am not hating in any way.

Well I have no issue with ponies at all.I enjoy them and actively help my wife collect. I myself even collect carebears vintage poseables. Just to explain the reason I spelled MOSTLY in all caps is to make a point that most people on this board are male but not all. There are many fine female posters but we really don't hear from them much to avoid any confusion.

Didn't they make a superhero themed pony for San Diego comic con a couple years back? That'd be a cool one to have.

Yeah I have seen the SH ponies Paul's wife got and they are pretty cool! They did a great job on the Super Hero one, I would get that one at least!

Alright. Of course, most Pony lovers are female, no doubt about that; even though "Big Brothers" Ponies were designed for boys (like 4Speed, Barnacle, Texan, Salty, Wigwam...), but this toyline was first designed for girls. "Big Brothers" were an attempt to get a few boys in their public, by representing ponies in male outfits and patterns: Texan was a cowboy, Barnacle was a pirate, 4Speed was a construction truck driver... a thing, in my regrets, Transformers never did for girls. As a matter of fact, there isn't a single female character in Transformers. As a child, this made me feel a little like a freak. If, like in Beast Wars, there has been a couple of female Transformers, maybe I would have felt a little better...
By the way, though I'm female, as a child, I have always been considered as a "garçon manqué". Why? Because my favorite toys were not Strawberry Shortcake or whatever, but Transformers, Masters of the Universe, as well as animal toys like lizards, snakes, spiders, lions, elephants and so on. In fairy tales, I always was on the dragon's side instead of the princess'!!! I always had a thing for monsters and animals and I would rather be in pants than in a dress.
It's only at the age of 10 that a friend of mine made me discover My Little Pony. They were a lot softer than what I was used to, but my mind somehow got wider. I appreciated the high variety of colors in those horses, as well as the variety of patterns on their little hindquarters. Not only horses (called "earth ponies" in the series) were represented, but also unicorns and pegasuses.

Hi! As many of you already know, I own a respectable My Little Pony collection. Among my ponies, there is one pony, however, I just cannot identify. And believe me, it's not because I didn't make the efforts to do it; as a matter of fact, it's the very only pony I haven't succeeded identifying yet (as for my baby ponies, I had identified them; only, I have to redo the work, because I don't remember half of their names). No Pony site whatsoever seems to have her in their pony encyclopedias and I'm getting desperate. Could anyone help me identifying her, please? She is marked Hasbro, 1987. Here is her pic:

Still, I don't like the new Pony generation. Man, their faces have the angles of a cardboard box and they are so skinny they look anorexic! What happenned to G1 ponies who had roundish bodies and smouth cheeks? They had just the right size to have MOTU figures riding them. Today, the only figures they can give a ride to are McDonalds mini figs. And then again, they have to be in hollow plastic to be sure they don't break the ponies' back! A sign of recession, again?

Anyhoos They always have to update everything gotta "appeal to todays kids" However if it was good enough for us it should ber good enough for them pretty easy just NOT to buy the things.

I know it's easy not to buy G3 ponies . But did they have to make them so skinny? It seems like Hasbro just made them smaller so they would be "cheaper to make"...

But seriously, is there anyone in the world who owns every single G1 pony that exist? Because sooooo many pony characters have been released, it's hard to imagine that someone, somewhere, owns a perfectly complete collection of those...

That must be a real rarity: I've never seen it before.

It's a bit rare, I've only seen 2 for sale, one went for 55$ and I payed 75$ for this one :) It's a gamescon exclusive. There are a bunch of different ones, but I tried pretty hard to get this one for her.
Edit: It doesn't have a name if I understand right but I think the community calls it "superhero".

Might have been comic con exclusive, I am not sure. Don't know much about mlp, close to none. Hehe.
I have no clue how many where produced. But when looking for one of these for my sisters birthday I figured I should by some exclusive, there are a lot of them and I had one in mind. But then I had remembered seeing this a while back and saw there was one on eBay. It cost more then I normally would buy for, but I missed her last birthday so figured why not.

hehe :P well I admit this one is pretty funny. Do some searches for superhero my little pony and you will probably find it, there is a line of these, and I believe it comes one each comic con so you will find a bunch of others also named superhero. But imo this is the one that really look like a super hero pony.

Today, there all many features on ponies one couldn't find in the 1980's: I have seen, recently: a unicorn with a lightbulb in the horn, a pegasus with sparkle on the wings, ponies pulling a carriage... all those features were never made in the 1980's. I wonder what will be invented for ponies in the next years.

Don't know but the flutter ponies will always be the coolest. Absolutely true!!!! I congratulate myself of having two of them. OK, it's not a crowd, but it's better than no flutter pony at all. Such a shame the wings were so fragile...

I used to collect MLP -- I wouldn't consider them action figures, plus there are specialty forums for them.
