I was wondering if anyone out there knows much about the late 1980's Bronze Bombers toy line? I recently found the Bronze Bombers hovercraft with Wayne "Golden" Alexander at a local flea market. It is still sealed in the package. The thing is, it is sealed in plastic shrink wrap. I was wondering if anyone out there knows if that is how these vehicles originally came? My fear is that when I go to sell it I want to be confident that the guy who sold this to me didn't mess with it and shrink wrap it himself to give it that look of newness.

5 days ago I purchased a figure lot on Ebay, nearly all are Corps. However I figure looks to be a Bronze Bomber I would be very happy if he is. Would be the first one for me of this series. Can anyone confirm this? Obviously it would be the figure on the bottom left.

He is similar to Sure Fire from BBs, but he also looks like a Commando figure. Which is he meaty, clam?

I wondered about that too. The mold is similar to Surefire but the colors are different than the Surefire on the Yojoe picture. He is similar to Sure Fire from BBs, but he also looks like a Commando figure. Which is he meaty, clam? You and Clam are the pros, I'm a novice.

Nope, not a Bronze Bomber. Just another KO. He is however a KO that I don't have, therefore I will give you something you need for him if you'd like to swap. I have all the Bombers pictured on page 1 of my collection thread, as well as several other KO's on page 6.

"Surefire" will get a nice place in my collection. The package with the figures should arrive any day now. As soon as it has I will make some detailed pictures.

You should call him Misfire, Sure Fire's cousin.

Here is a more detailed picture of the figure. There are no markings on it, other than "China".

Yeah he's from any one of the 20 or 30 generic thrift store lines. He could have come out in the late 80's or last week. They all claim China or Hong Kong. They're completely worthless, but I think they're cool as hell. I would say this one is from the late 90's just because they painted the grenade, pouches, and pockets different colors. Had he been made in the 80's they wouldn't have bothered. Pretty cool figure, but I wouldn't expect to find an exact line, plus he may have been put out in several lines anyway. I have many examples of this figure, all with differing paint schemes.

I stumbled upon several of these in a K-Mart for 59 cents about 2 years ago. The cards were in horrible shape, but the figures were about as perfect as these things can be.

I recently bought two of these on the card for dirt cheap ($10 a pop). I removed them from the package and clipped their file cards (the cards were pretty beat), but that's besides the point. This is the only GI Joe knock-off line I have any interest in due to the novelty element of them.
Anyway, I'm amused as hell at how low the quality of these things were. It makes me question the women behind the company's motive. They were made to give minority children toys they could be proud of and relate to, yet the quality was piss poor behind belief. Far crappier than any dollar store toy I've seen. Regardless though, they're still cool and I'd like to get the complete line (which shouldn't be hard, as they don't seem to sell well on eBay).

I just scored 8 Bronze Bombers, the torso of an 9th and several of the weapons from the 1997 TRU box set. They were in a GI Joe lot. I recognized the guy that looks like a strato viper because of the green goggles. I wanted several of the GI Joes, and parts that were in the lot. The bombers just g ave me the justification to buy the lot. I'll post pics when they come in. Here is the pic. I was kind of surprised by the quality. My previous experience with Bombers was the 1988 versions and those were awful.

Like the article Gammo. Only thing I need for a complete line is the Motorcycle. The Hovercraft was pretty easy to find, but the helicopter was not so much.

Here is a more detailed picture of the figure. There are no markings on it, other than "China". He reminds me of Stalker in G.I.JOE, or Jammer as he was known when Palitoy UK used Stalkers mold to make Jammer for the Z-FORCE Command Centre (basically Palitoy using the Command Centre mold as well). I could imagine this is what Palitoy could have done if they'd done a completely articulated Action Force in the early 1980s. The mold on this guy reminds me of the Galoob A-Team 3 3/4 inch figures too.

Thats what it reminded me of was the Palitoy stuff but its completely unmarked and I have never seen it before in any of the Palitoy catalogs or picture galleries of that line. Its definately 3 3/4 inch scale.

By some really odd coincidence I happened to be searching Olmec on eBay, unintentionally had the completed auctions box checked, and what did I see? Completed eBay auction link for 1988 Olmec Bronze Bombers Battle Hovercraft Nice find!
