it's from a holy grail series of mine called "The Sword and the Sorcerers: The Monsters." if you ever come across any more, i'm interested. never seen the centaur before, he doesn't really do much for me.

Don't have any, but sorta remember seeing those in my youth...wasn't there a weird lion demon and a snake man, amongst others?

Never saw that flick...heard of it...the sword looks like one of the glow-in-the-dark weapons from Arco's Other World line...neat!
Anybody have more pics of the toys? I actually have a "nicer" version of that two-headed dragon. By that, I mean cleaner sculpt. I had in in an old post and I think I remember someone mentioning it may have been from the Swords and Sorcerers line.

grizzlor, thanks a ton for posting those pics! the first one with the fin-back dragon is awesome, i have that dragon but i got him in a pack of dinos made in about 2004. i wonder if this was the first time it was made, or if this is just another repackage. i'm sure we'll never know haha

Scrawled these out last night (while listening to Michael Jackson no less...) Were these guys from this line? I vaguely remember seeing the lion guy in my youth but never owning one. Caught him on eBay listed as a Dungeons and Dragons figure some time ago...lost out on him. He was solid and about 4 inches. The snake guy I saw carded somewhere on the 'net even longer ago. I think he came with a smaller figure or two. Keep in mind, my artwork isn't exact...just going from memory!

While we're at it...dug these out... The two-header is kinda hollowed out on the underside and made of a softer vinyl-like plastic...the other two are hard solid plastic. My neighbor had a green with red wings version of the flying dragon back in the day.

i've got the winged dragon in orange, the fin-back dragon in bright green, and the fin-backed dragon in the colors of your winged dragon. whew! i've seen your 2-header in various colors as well. these may have originated as Sword and Sorcerers figures, but they've been endlessly reused.

Awesome! I didn't even remember having these as a kid until I saw the pics in this thread. I think my brother still has that two headed dragon somewhere in his collection.

well at this point they're the kind of thing that really has probably only a handful of people lookin at em. they rarely turn up, so if you're fine with 30 bucks, you did well! if you ever get tired of the snake man, you know where to send him

Mmmm....not anymore....someone was selling a bunch of mixed auctions of monsters and such. They kinda had random groups of figures, so they probably had no idea about what they were...one of those where someone finds an old shoebox fulla crap and decides to sell it. Anyway, as soon as I get it I'll show it. Man, so many obscure toys from childhood.......sometimes you gotta actually see it to jog your memory. I do remember seeing it, just not sure what it was!

Okay...took awhile but here it is! It does indeed have the Fleetwood manufacturer's mark on its underside (near the *ahem*...naughty bits area). Love him...kind of a weird mer-unicorn! Like I said, do remember seeing one (vaguely) as a kid...something you see in a store or in some other kid's collection that you, yourself never had yet still remember.

i've had these for years, but i just found these are also from this series. i've seen the one on the right carded with the colors reversed, so it looks just like Zando from Other World.

I scored some of these myself! Here's a red version of the ol' Lumpy Ogre compared to the green one. Man, I gotta get more! Anyone have loose samples of the human characters?

Pretty darned excited to find and eventually obtain this little number...scope this playset!!! Ta-da!!! The Sword and the Sorcerer playset...comes with castle, eight figures, two horses, two riders, and eight weapons (my set's missing one). Okay, I'm thrilled! One of those never-thought-I'd-get-it toys from the annals of the 80s. The packaging on this set was shot...luckily, I had planned on opening it anyway, so good for me. Seems the original owner or owners had cared enough to try and repair this set's package. The blister bubble was taped back on kinda haphazardly. Still, heavily yellowed, cracked, and worn. The card was also worn and a bit curled and ripped. Oh well, no complaints...it's garbage monster food as far as I'm concerned. The card is about 14 inches tall and 9 wide. Aside from being marked by Fleetwood, up by the top logo you see 1983 BLC Services Inc. The castle is just a facade...as expected...it's about 4 inches tall by a little over six inches long. The figures are a little over two inches with paint apps and holes in each hand for weapons which are supposed to glow in the dark. There's two horse and rider figures...they are in a smaller scale...the figures being only around an inch and a half in height. Weapons are molded into the figures and not removeable. Figures can be removed from the steeds at least! And...OUCH...look how they connect...*shudder*...they plug into a small peg on the horses' saddles. Not a good way to ride if you have piles...yeesh! Unfortunately, I cannot commentate on movie accuracy...never saw the film...man, gotta get around to that, even if it's on VHS!!! Did some mild image searches and such, seems like the one small horse-rider looks like the main protagonist. Eh, one day I'll see that movie. See how eerily similar these toys are to Arco's The Other World toy line? Kinda makes you wonder...you know...was anything "going on" here? Copycat? Heavy inspiration? Who knows?!?! Something to look into, I suppose.

I'm assuming you're quite familiar with the movie, Grizz...and since the odds of me watching this any time soon (haven't even turned on a TV in months, let alone watched any movies!) are slim...clue me in...that weird lumpy dude...is he (it) in the movie? Seems to be represented in smaller and larger scale, so he's gotta be important right? Looks like a walking VD!

He's an evil sorceror named Xusia, played by Richard Moll-who is brought back to to the realm of mortals by Cromwell, played by Richard Lynch. Between Bull Shannon & the bad guy from Invasion USA-Lee Horsley really had his hands full. "Kiss my ring, bootch." - Xusia

Okay, won this auction the day before I left for a little vacation and came home to find it...YEAH! Scope him... So, no markings...but has the same sculptural aesthetic as many of the Fleetwood figures...even the crappy easily-worn paint apps as the plastic figures. He's made of solid plastic and not hard rubber like the larger figures. Aside from paint wear, this snake guy seems to have once held a weapon in his right hand...now since broken off. The snake he's cluthing has some bite-wear, but who am I to complain? I'm just glad to find this thing! I doodled a few of these monsters from memory a while back...was fairly close with the winged lion man, but the snake man is way off...well, not THAT way off, but I'm working under the assumption this guy I now have is actually the one I kinda remember seeing. Anyone out there to confirm? Also, anyone know what the weapon was he was holding? Here he is in a comparison shot with the smaller humanoid figure and a dragon. Also, was able to wrangle some color variations on the horses. Now I got the running horse and the bucking horse in both white and brown. Wheee!
