For any of your captain power toy collectors i have a question.
Im trying to figure out how much to pay for the average vehicle MIB.
IM looking for the ATR and trans communication station but don't want to over pay.
what do they normally go for? thnx

The foreign release sets go for a bit more than the regular vehicles and such, between $30-$50. The Skybike launcher is the grail of the line though. I had one for sale on the site a few months back, but sold it on Ebay for $200 as there were no takers.

Also recently found out that the Blastpak 1200 was also released in small quantities in Europe. Found a pic from an old Ebay auction on another site and the guy who posted the pic confirmed it was listed on Ebay awhile back. Makes me wonder if all the 2nd series vehicles shown in the 1987 Mattel catalog were released in very small quantities?

I currently just bought a second sealed Skybike launcher. I also own a double of Pilot Chase and a MIB Eden 2. Buying a 2nd Skybike Launcher as the one I have has writing on one side of the box.

Whats the Eden 2 (never heard of it)? Would be interested in it also if you could post a pic that would be great!

It's the trans field base. Technically it was classed as Eden 2 according to the box art on the boxed ones I own.

you know what weird about the later series MOC figures like stingray johnson, is there was like 100's of em on ebay from 1999 to 2002 and you could get them for 5-10 bucks. all of a sudden i start getting back into captain power last year, and its like a storm whiped them all out. now the actual power base, the one thats a mountain is kinda tricky to find. it used to be a monthly warmer on ebay....i should have got it while i had the chance i guess

With Captain Power stuff getting rarer and rarer to come by on eBay, I thought it was time to see what some of the rarer stuff is worth. A while back i sorted out my Skybike Launchers, but I realised that I'm crazy if I don't get a feel for what a sealed Blastpak1200 might go for (just so it's on the record, I'm planning on keeping it for obvious reasons heh). Here's a pic of it: I guess the question is, how much is it worth and should I bite the bullet and get it AFA graded?

ouch! but honesty, ive seeen it really vary on ebay if i can recall correctly. around 2000, you couldn't sell captain power stuff for more than 10-20 bucks. recently, obviously there has been a huge increase in prices. i would guess that its easily 100 and up if the right buyers are looking. but then again, im not really knowledgeable about recent sales and such.

VL, the problem I have is that these suckers almost never show up. While I paid $20USD+shipping for this and a sealed Captain Power figure; I put that down almost entirely to the fact that it was an Italian auction and so it didn't get anywhere near the attention of what it normally would have. In fact that was the only auction for one of these which I have ever seen. However I know it's rare based on what 10incher said here when he said So the question is, where does that leave mine in terms of value?

I'd say, in terms of value, I would imagine it would only go up as the years go by. Some lines have actually bottomed out and are not worth very much (even though they are still fun to collect), but I would guess this line is unique enough to continue on the rise. I know that doesn't help when you need a figure, but I'd stick with the estimate of it being at least 100 bucks.

A nice score for $20! Although I have no clue of the value, I think you'll turn a tidy profit if you do decide to sell based on the rarity.

Depends on if the demand goes up other then that in my opinion the best price to charge is what YOU think would be best based on what you would realistically pay for it.

Back in June 2008 an Ebay seller in Europe had a few of these for sale with a MOC Captain Power figure. I picked mine up for $32. Up until then though, hadn't seen one come up on Ebay since I started collecting the line. I am sure its worth more than that though like others have said, it all depends on the demand

Thanks guys, I guess the next question is, is this one of those rare times when it's worth getting it AFA graded?

I've never gotten anything AFA graded myself, but I would suggest probably doing so. Mainly because:
1) I doubt anyone will truly want to open this up in the future. 2) It's not easy to come by 3) Whoever may be looking for it in the future may appreciate getting a graded version rather than a regular.
I'm usually not very supportive of grading things, because I feel like it no longer makes it a toy. But being that there are so few of these, and I don't imagine too many people are nostalgic of this from when they are a kid, I'd guess grading it would probably be a good option.

As for the question at the start of this thread: "IM looking for the ATR and trans communication station but don't want to over pay." It is hard to say how much the ATR "usually" goes for, because it usually isn't up for sale. At least not in the US. In the last year it has only sold on US eBay twice (complete, but not necessarily sealed). Once for $50 and once for $60. Your best bet for getting the ATR is looking in Italy or France. The shipping and conversion rate into Euros is horrible, but the ATR is a rare find in the US. As for the Trans Comm Station, things are a bit cheaper. It has also sold only twice on US eBay in the last year (complete, but not necessarily sealded), once for $18 and once for $35. However, those prices probably undervalue the item given how rare it is. So again looking overseas in Italy and France are your best bet. However, when I say each of these items have only sold twice in the last year, I mean individually. I don't keep track of when they appear in sets of Captain Power items up for sale. Usually, however, those are the best deals. I rarely buy items individually given how huge the discounts are when you buy in sets of 2+ (even if I just resell the items in the set I don't actually want).

The Resistance Ambush Pod Station, Anti-Personnel Patroller, T.R.A.C. 5000, Bio Dread Armoured Destroyer, Skybike ST-300, Blastpak 1200 and Missile Lock Indicator jet attachment were shown in the 1988 Mattel catalog and were all possibly produced in low numbers in Europe. The Blastpak 1200 and Anti-Personnel Patroller are the only ones however, that have had boxed samples surface, so the others may have been produced as well. That would make these the hardest toys to find from the line. Read more: actionfiguresca.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Starwars&thread=8353&page=1#ixzz1cuMqHKR2 Well, other than the Anti-Personnel Patroller and the Blastpak 1200, it is almost certain that none of the items on the above list were ever produced. There may be one or two prototypes somewhere in existence, but nothing released even in small numbers. To put that in perspective, there should also be one or two prototypes in existence even of the produced toys. The rarest items are clearly the Sky Bike Launcher and the Anti-Personnel Patroller. It's not clear if they were produced in the same numbers or not; there *may* be fewer Anti-Personnel Patrollers which would increase its value but the Sky Bike Launcher is clearly the "cooler" of the two toys which increases its value. Either way, both run in the $150-300 range. The Blastpak 1200 isn't all to rare itself since it was produced to be packaged with the two jets in somewhat high numbers (like Stingray and Tritor numbers, so still not high numbers). However the Blastpak 1200 packaged by itself is extremely rare. Possibly as rare as the Sky Bike Launcher and the Anti-Personnel Patroller. Even so, it doesn't sell for as much since the Blastpak 1200 can be purchased fairly easily as packaged with the XT7 and Phantom Striker and due to the fact that the Blastpak 1200 is simply a dumb toy. The Blastpak 1200 is definately an awesome and extremely rare item to have as a part of one's collection (I just got one myself!!!), but obviously not the prize jewels that the Sky Bike Launcher or Anti-Personnel Patroller are.
