Kind of a forgotten toy line released by Galoob in 1986. I think it was loosley based on Flash Gordon. I have 5 of the 6 figures MOC, only missing The Phantom. Mongor looks pretty cool, may have to try and pick him up. Anybody else have these guys?

I think there was a comic or cartoon called Defenders of the Earth. I have all 6 loose in my collection. The Phantom from this series is definitely better than the Phantom series released back in the late 90's. IMO, that line was crap. Anyone remember those? Anyway, I have a carded Phantom if you still need one.

I collect this line. I pick up the figs whenever as they are usually dirt cheap. I'm really working on the vehicles. The sword ships are awesome, really a sweet idea for kids. Mongor is pretty sweet also. I have Mongor mib, the Claw Copter mib, and the Flash Swordship mib All opened but mint. I really only collect it for the vehicles as the figs are terrible looking (I only have 2 moc)

Was the Grip-Jaw ever released in Defenders of the Earth packaging? It is the same as the Infaceables Crusher Cruiser.

As far as I know it was. I used to think none of the ships were produced until I found some pics. I think I saw it once in a lot (I didnt bid as shipping was outrageous). But finding any of the ships takes a lot of patience

Another thought also, is that with things being rare, sometimes people just get tired of waiting for the right price, and just buy it no matter the extra cost. I've done that. Noone wants to wait 3 years for an item. So, you bid the extra money. Especially if you just want to collect for fun, not for money and resale value. Just my two cents, but for those of us that only have Ebay as our source of toys, sometimes you gotta bid more than it's worth, if it doesn't come up that often.

Just got him in, bought him in a lot. Everything is made of plastic, but his hands are metal. ~Wilco

Does anyone have any pics of the second series unreleased figures? I know a set of the kids, 2 villans and the big evil computer exist as Whiz Bang Toys was selling them in the 90`s. I have looked all over the web and can`t find anything on them

Yep, picked up a set of them MOC quite a few years back. Still need 1 or 2 of the vehicles. Really do like the figures and you'll really need to find yourself a Skull Copter.

On this topic, there's a weird anomaly. On the back of the Action figure cards it shows a picture of the Gripjaw, which I've never seen advertised anywhere, yet when I looked on the back of the Claw Copter box, it isn't shown while all 5 other vehicles were.
Further making things puzzling is that the site here lists that it was released in the Infaceables line as the Crusher Cruiser. Does anyone know exactly what the deal is there?

It was released for both lines, though I don't think it had the Infaceables sticker on it in the DOTE version. Don't own one yet (passed on it a few times awhile back) so not sure what else the differences are.

Thanks for that. Incidentally, when can we expect to see a DOTE section on the site?

Honestly man, i would love to get one up as I have all the figures and most of the vehicles, but it seems my time has been pretty limited over the last year (new baby, selling old house and buying a new one, etc.) I haven't really had a chance to get any work done on the archive in a long time. I'm gonna try and set aside some time here and there soon to hopefully get new sections up, even if its a little at a time

That would be great, because your site is kind of the polar opposite to virtual toy chest. By that I mean that in my experience, virtual toy chest covers countless toylines but tends to have more holes in the info sections of alot of pages than a block os swiss cheese whereas you tend to have too small a number of toylines on there, but when you do have it, you tend to be THE source to go to for info on that toyline.
So yeah the more sections you can get up over time, the better it will be for collectors trying to get info.
Also does anyone know if the Claw copter has a yellow body or was an auction I saw recently the victim of bad sun yellowing?

JUst wondering if anyone else here besides Chad and I collected the line. The figures aren't bad- basically a dial on the back of each of them controls a power punching action.
The vehicle gimmicks were decent too, with both ships turning into RP swords, Mongor being motorised and both Copters havign a claw grabbing actions. Not sure with the Grip Jaw though because it seems to be rare as hens teeth. I might post my collection of them as they stand in the thread in the next day or so.

The thing I want to track down is the Whiz Bang add with all the pics of the second series figures and vehicles. I know they had them and it was in Toy Shop magazine, but I just cant find any info about them anywhere.
