Came across ans article detailing unproduced figures and ships from the various Aliens and Predator movie figure lines. There really could have been some great stuff there, especially the Aliens Drop Ship.

Ugh, I was extremely disappointed when Kenner canceled the Dropship back then! I love that line, more so than anything McFarlane or NECA have put out.

this was one of the first series i actually sought out to collect. they are still probably my fave scale aliens (after 28mm minis) come on you have to admit the deluxe alien queen from mcfarlne was pretty fracking kool as for necas 7-9" figures .. scale is out to lunch ... why so big?

Oh yeah, I'm not dissing on McFarlane and NECA stuff at all. I think the quality of their sculpting is fabulous. However for me action figures need to have playability in one form or another, be it articulation, action features, etc. And the severe lack of vehicles and/or accessories for 7-9" figures really limits my interest in them.

I was a little disappointed with the Aliens and Predator figures Kenner put out. I just wished they had been more movie accurate. Bishop looked insane, and what was up with the Alien with the horns on his head? The predators were released in all kinds of funky colors, I just couldn't get into it. I did like the Alien/Predator 2 pack Kenner put out however, they were both really well done. It would have been cool if you could strike a happy medium between the playability of Kenner's stuff with the accuracy and detail of McFarlane's stuff. Picture all the Marines done in Gi. Joe 25th Anniversary style and the APC, that would be sweet.
