He looks like Delinger from Gardian, from the Godaikin line. He should be marked Popy or Bandai. If he's made in Taiwan, he's a knock-off. It looks like he's missing his fists.

It's like a russian doll of diecast robots. There's the inner bot, about 4", then the middle robot (the red one pictured above), about 7", and the outer (blue) robot, about a foot tall. There's a reverse colored version(I think it's the K.O.) and a version was released in Japan as part of their GoBots (I think the series was Baikanfu or something like that). Both the middle and outer bots have launching fists and surprising posability given its age and combination sequence. All the bots have accessories (chrome sword things, I think), and the smallest robot even opens like the larger ones to hold a 2" bendable pilot figure.
One of the most common 'large' Godaikins released by Bandai in the US during the 80s, a boxed complete(or nearly complete) can be had for under $150, which isn't bad for vintage Japanese die-cast robots.
