I have Antor and in good shape how much does he go for? Not below 85$ if he's bare. With equipment, he can go up to 125$. The last decent one I saw went for $26US. *FROm eBAy. Thanks very much, bowheadwhale! (I can't believe I let these slip away, and so recently, too!) You're welcome. However, it will be the Friday of NEXT WEEK, since tomorrow is Canada's Independance Day.

That's fine... Monday is Independence Day for the United States. (Ever notice how we tend to say it's America's independence... even though Canada, Mexico, Peru, Brazil... ect. are ALL America?!)

That's fantastic, thank you! I only speak and read a little French, unfortunately, so their grammar is safe with me. At some point I would love to get some acurate translations on the complete story line (at least for the names of the characters and locations). I don't know why, but Other World has always been fascinating to me. The more I can learn about it, the better!

Well, that story is certainly not an Agatha Christie-worth one. Zendo and his army captured the Jipps who became his prisonners. With their swords in the air, Princess Kreena and Prince... whatever his name, swear to king Raidy they'll help him deliver the Jipps. But a spy Mog heard them and goes warning endo who is preparing for his ennemies'arrival. To be continued.

Heh, yeah, that part I got. I've been trying to collect the names of any locations that appear i the series (I know a few; Valley of the Lost Steps Valley, Castle Zendo, The Red Lake, Lightless Jungle, Pool of Ashina), and a bit of background on some characters. For instance, is Yurus good or neutral? Does it say anywhere where Ess Gee or Jurka are from? That sort of thing.

You can see a few shots of some of the stories here*I will get some better ones for you of just the comics. Can't really read them all that easily in those shots.

Thanks! It's not a very large toy line, but not many lines had so much story associated with them. My collection slipped away about two years ago, so now that I don't have them I have become quite passionate about them again! Funny how that works.

Nothing is stopping you from collecting them again, I hope...

But can't you have at least the smaller figures? You know, like Zendo and Hondu?

Perhaps if I've very lucky. Finances aren't what they used to be, what with the economy struggling to stay above water, a new home to pay for and a new mouth to feed. Collecting kinda falls by the wayside when priorities shift.

I created the wikipedia page to The Other World recently. Very bare bones. Now that is good news! Finally we will be able to search for Other World info easily. This line has not much info on the net, so new pages are always welcome.

No kidding! The funny thing is, there really isn't that much info to uncover, but it seems really hard to find. I suppose that's par for the course when you are looking after a vague, old, unsupported product line from a company that was bought out, became a division of Mattel, and then was closed down.

Otherworld roks. Just picked up a 2nd Gaifand from a thrift store. No reigns on the collars, but hey, now I got a Mummy Gaifand, Daddy Gaifand and a baby Gaifand (Imperial mini).

Well, not too surprisingly, Mattel says no go for now on my proposed Other World project. Still, they also said the door wasn't closed on the idea, just that they were not prepared to release a license. Who knows? Perhaps my query sparked a modicum of interest in the line? With all the fantasy movies out there, we may see a revival in The Other World... wouldn't a detailed, jointed, 1/18 scale line be incredible?! Just a total concept, by the way... no official rumor starting, people!

actually, i think a relaunched other world line would be pretty bad...i love how cheesy, colorful, crappy, and goofy looking the original series is. somehow i don't think a new series could capture the fun of the original.

I am usually not a fan of remakes, especially in the movies. However, I think The Other World could fly. Aim the series at young kids, rather than at collectors, have lots of bright colors and you a have a winner.
By the way I love the Avatar Maethius.

Wow, that is a GREAT site! I really miss my collection. While I do really like the old hokey molds and such, I must admit that I'm impressed with the quality and detail of many of the figures out there today. I really would love to see a relaunch of TOW. And normally I'm with tootles on remakes.

I had Skitzo as a child. I have to say there was not really much love lost between us. Im pretty sure I used to whip him against stuff outside (rocks mostly) to see what crazy pose he would end up in. Suffice it to say he got lost in my woods somewhere I'm pretty sure. I know, toy abuse but I was very discriminating about my collection back then. I did keep the weapon and shield for a long time though since I was very happy with them, especially the shield.

Does anyone know if there are any differences between the rocks that come with "Lava man" and the Rocks that come with "Moc the rock thrower "?

Yes one is shaped slightly flatter (can't remember which) and I believe Moc's is a bit larger. Take a look at the pics in the site's archive, you may be able to spot the difference. I don't have a side by side pic on hand though.

Moc's is slighty bigger. It is flatter on the side that rests on the catapult. Has a cross shaped groove in it also for the same purpose. Here are some pics. Moc rock on the left in the pics.
