Hi All,
I'm a new user here. Very excited to find a forum dedicated to 80's toy lines. Anyway I'm beginning a new Dino Riders collection. I absolutely loved these when I was younger. I didn't get very many unfortunately and I lost all of them. These were honestly one of my favorite toy lines during the 80's, second only to Star Wars growing up. I'm interested in getting a complete collection going, plus I am currently working on a comprehensive and original Dino Riders related website.
I'd love if anyone has anything to contribute to the thread. If you collect these, or just remember them go ahead and chime in.
I'm also having a difficult tracking some of these down. People really compete for them on Ebay so it can get difficult. I may open up a thread about Dino Riders in the Marketplace.

Welcome to the board!!!! I have never seen these before. I think I was in my early teen batman phase at the time. These figures are sweet......no wonder people compete for them. Good luck collecting these......I might want to myself down the line. I love this pic they have over @ tvirtualtoychest.com :

Welcome to the boards Starhorse! I have always liked Dinoriders but never had the opportunity to pick up any of the toys. I do know of one Dinoriders Website on the Internet (will have to post the link later) but most of the pictures are from the back of the toy boxes.
LMK if you are interested in working together on a Dinoriders Website. I would love to add a section to the main archive featuring loose complete figures, creatures & vehicles. The problem is I have no toys to take pics of.
Also let me know if you are interested in a Dinoriders Avatar as I am currently making up a bunch of new ones for use on these boards.

They were pretty big at the time. Dino toys were mostly crappy un-detailed, one toned pieces of plastic up until that point. The first time I saw Dino Riders was on the playground at recess. I was totally blown away that not only was there an awsome looking dino but it also came with a rider and strap on guns! That is just pure gold to a kid.
Anyway, in researching for my upcoming web sites content I'm also trying to track down either copies or scans from sears wishbooks. I believe Dino Riders came out in 1987 or 1988 and ran until 1990. I'm really trying hard to get these to put up on my web site as well as have a reference for the price points for each toy. If any one could help me out with this I would be super grateful.

Sorry for the double post but I just noticed your reply. I would totally be interested in Dino Riders avatars. As for the web site idea I would be happy to contribute images of the toys as I get them. I currently have only begun my new collection and have won a few off ebay. It will be a definite work in progress.

I'm super excited! I got a super deal going this weekend. I'll have a very nice start to my collection arriving in about a week. I scored 7 different Dino Riders sets complete with packages. I got a super nice price for this lot too. I'll post pictures and details when they arrive in about a week.

He does have quite the toy collection. I've submitted some pics of my toys to him for his archive but he has not posted them yet. Anyways good luck with your collection, the Dino-Riders is a great line.

It's an amazing toy line. It actually was the toy line that started Tyco into the action figure market. The toys are extremely well built, even by todays standards. There was a ton of quality put into these things.
