Anyone collect these? Honestly, they remind me of Beanie Babies and I can't stand the look of them. Without it saying on the box, you can't even tell who any of the figures are. My kids will buy the odd one with their own money at toy shows and such but I won't let them pay more than $5 per figure. Idk, anyone think any of these will retain any sort of value?

It's an interesting product line for sure. A novelty super-deformed series for the masses, which became a hit. I think the variety of IP's is the key, since you can collact a vast amount of fictional and real characters.
While I do like designer toys, this is not my cup of tea. I can't stand the aesthetics and it's way over-hyped. But, people collect what they want and I appreciate the loyalty of their fans.

I can't stand these or other cutesy poo super deformed type toys. No idea if they will retain value but there's some that are already insanely expensive on the secondary market. I guess if you wanna waste your money on nondescript chucks of vinyl that's your prerogative but I don't get it either.

Everytime you mention these ... things, a vintage action figure dies. I ... can ... see how others are interested, if I really try. Dependent on the individual, but the idea of one in my room, regardless of the IP, makes me feel doity. I walked past one doing work in a client's house, if it wasn't for the Dr Who library next to it, I could have spent the rest of my life guessing. Just looked like 'generic office worker with her hair parted a certain way'. Hell, I'm not even sure if it was Dr Who anymore. They made a Wynonna Earp one of these. With a chase figure. I reckon that says everything. Bonus knowledge: you can send away for custom ones of yourself.

i have never been a fan of super deformed figures at all for one thing. i also dont like how genericly they all sort of look the same. i dont like how limited the movement of them is. i mean honestly i pretty much personally dislike every aspect of them. but i guess people are going to like what they like. as a strictly 3 3/4" scale collector i also dont really like their reaction figures either. i think both lines have the same thing going on, nice licenses lame product.

The very first time I saw these, with no prior knowledge of their existence, I said "ick" to myself. Never have owned or purchased one. Just don't see the appeal. They must be cheap to produce.

*CLEAR!!* *KA-CHUNK* *beep...beep...beep...*
As I revive this long dead thread to add my 1-year late reply. I find some of them cool and some of them moronic. For me, as a collector, I enjoy the toy history and art of sculpting and design.
While these are just 3D modeled, I can see the appeal in their specific art style to many. I like the ones though that they put more effort into. So just some blank eyes, who the f**k is that figure of some dude in jeans and a t-shirt makes no sense to me. But over the years, me and the wife have somehow scattered a few dozen around.
On my desk right now is a mystery mini of Bazooka Joe and the Tootsie Roll Owl, and I have two more coming oddly enough from BBTS soon. The Slush Puppie mascot and Punchy from Hawaiian Punch. Needless to say, I like their junkfood Ad Icon stuff.
Oh, and over there on my arcade is a Ms. Pac-Man, there's a Cruchberries Best w/ a Franken Berry mystery mini. Wait, behind me I spy a cool looking Slimer, Franken Berry, Gus Fring, Twinkie The Kid, James Hetfield, Sandy from Grease....I think they're multiplying!!!!
Anyway, I will most definitely say that they are NOT like Beanie Babies. I understood the comparison back in the beginning, but these are a legit collectible category, even if the majority of them are devoid of soul art-wise.
The key difference, as mentioned before, is the range of IP. It's because of this that people actually want them. With Beanie Babies, the whole "collecting" aspect of them was a bubble propped up by flippers.

They're ghastly. They're also sort of neat. There's a drug store in my country that occasionally carries overstock of these and when I know a character I WILL pick it up. Consequenty I have way too many at 2,99 or 3,99 each. Will these be the collector's items of the future? I don't know, but mine are all still in the box as I don't see the appeal of taking them out and they're conveniently stackable.
