Why didn't they make those? That would have been one of the best lines EVER! The movie did very well, didn't it?

As much as I have adored that film since I saw it in theaters at the age of three, I think those figures look terrible. I can't blame them for not releasing the series.

They look very misshapen to me, and they somehow convey all the creepiness of the film without any of the cuteness. Why do Jen and Kira look so darn old and crumply? They're even hunched over.

I dig them. I think they look good. Now they would have sucked to play with as a kid, but for display purposes they aren't bad. I never thought Jen and Kira were that cute to begin with.

I see your point about old and crumply, but I prefer that over cuteness. For the cuteness factor, they could have released plush toys, but leave my action figures old and crumply. -Chad

Speaking of which, now I suddenly want my Ducktales plush toys back again. I haven't thought of those since 1988

Those Aviva Dark Crystal protos are my #1 want of all time and i'd sell pretty much my entire collection just to get them. I've been a HUGE Dark Crystal fan since I was a kid and these are just awesome to me...

Nice little piece of history, thanks for posting It's a shame this line never made it to production, I remember as a kid thinking it would have been great to have a Skeksis figure.

The figures would have looked good, and love the card art!

what amazes me is two things, first, that these beauts never saw the lite of the toy store. 2nd, that with all the great sculpted toys that mcfarlane & neca and mezco makes, that they wouldn't remake them today. They made a labyrinth Jared, but these are screaming for an incredible sculted figure with tones of accessories. Don't toy companies know that they have an army of collectors just wanting, no demanding they make these? Viva dark crystal revolution!!!

I'm with you! But I never liked McFarlane/neca stuff. I want ACTION figures, and to have an old look to them, just like the prototypes.

; Where did you get this? Thanks for sharing! -Chad Hey Chad. I get most of my prototypes from a handful of dealers that I have befriended over the years. All of the people I buy from have long time connections to ex-Kenner, ex-Hasbro employees.

Maybe 10 years ago, Tom Tumbush of Tomart was selling his set of the four #1 wave figures for 10K. I didn't have the cash, but man I wanted 'em badly.
