A friend of mine gave me an old millenium falcon and some figures (in exchange for a dodge viper model!!)
The falcon needs a few parts which I am getting off ebay, but it has an electronics section, basically a battery cover, although nothing happens with batteries.
So I take the falcon apart to find that all there is inside behind the batteries is a small motor, attached to nothing.
Does anyone know what the batteries operated? If you are going to ask me what model it s (ROTJ, ESB etc), I don't know, but if you know how I can tell the difference I will have a look
Thanks

The motor is just for engine sounds. I don't think it lights up any lights or anything like that.

Yep, its just there to make a buzzing sound. Behold, late 70's toy electronics in all their glory.

I remeber how cool the light and sound effects were when I first got a snowspeeder for X-Mas back in the day. It came a long way from the Falcon & X-Wings effects.

The snow speeder did have that cool strobe effect going on. I remember how pissed I was when I lost one of the clear plastic guns.

Same here. I lost the piece that goes in between the wing and the tie fighter. Theres so many old toy parts that are probably just laying under a pile of leaves in my moms back yard that its pathetic.

Are you guys serious, thats it? ? the motor doe nothing but turn around and that sound is supposed to be the engines And to think that when I was a kid I thought these toys were magical... How did they make that sound, Wow what made that turn like that.... Coooool but it's a crappy motor.... Oh well, I'm sure I can pick one up from somewhere, they look like the standard ones that lego models use. (although presumably todays motors are nice and quiet, which won't help)

It really was one of the worst electronic features ever. As a kid there was only one logical option; ditch the batteries and you have an extra smuggling compartment

it's not just a motor, the motor's gear that spins is supposed to hit a thin plastic strip to make the noise, make sure you have that thin strip in there too

I have like that one inside of Millienium Falcon. When I bought them and they doesn't working but I fixed it excellent job, it's not hard work. Millienium Falcon don't have light flashing but the X-wing have one in front of nose does red flash when you hold the blue button on top of it's back, it does buzz noise. The Millenium Falcon does have buzz noise too when you hold the gold button on the side of it with the batteries inside.
