This is something that's been rumored for a while, and just ahead of Toy Fair Hasbro made it official. I for one think it's long overdue. They've been pumping out 3 3/4" figures for over 30 years now. The line needs something fresh. And 2012 wasn't exactly a great year for the Star Wars line at retail, with pegs clogged with Phantom Menace Vintage Collection figures and new waves never seeing the light of day. Collectors I've talked to seem divided on the idea. I'd be curious to hear what Star Wars collectors here think. www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/2013/01/29/hasbro-star-wars-black-series-action-figure-toys/1872035/

If there is one thing Star Wars collectors seem to hate, it is a rocking boat. And I think 6" figures might indeed get that boat a'rocking. Hasbro has been essentially selling the same people the same toys for 15 years. With that said, I think it is great. I am willing to bet they will be hyper articulated Marvel Legends style, although my fantasy would be 6" versions of vintage guys, ala gentle giant's 12" line. As an aside, does anyone remember the exceptionally short lived 6" line from the Episode 1 era? I think it was just Maul, ObiWan and Qui Gon

Yeah you're right, Star Wars collectors are like those people who eat at the same restaurant 3-4 times a week and order the same thing every time. The good thing is the 3 3/4" inch line isn't going away. This new 6" line will hit mid-year and have two waves, w/ four figures per wave. At that $20 price point they're wise not to push it too hard, too fast. Hmmm, the only 6" TPM figures I can recall were those Maul, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon figures where the bases attached and they interacted or something, but I'm not for sure .

I'm psyched for this series! I'm NOT psyched about the convention exclusives that will surely come, making it near impossible to obtain fan favorites at fair prices.

At this past weekend's Toy Fair Hasbro all but confirmed that the inevitable SDCC exclusive will be Boba Fett w/Han Solo in carbonite. *Sigh* Of course Hasbro will definitely release Fett at retail as part of the regular series at some point, but I doubt we'll see the Han in carbonite outside of that exclusive.
