I remeber when I was a kid, my brother and I each got a Sears Canada exclusive set of figures. They were MOC and packaged in a special carton as well. Anyone know if there were specific figures in these sets or did Sears just package various ones together. Anyone have any pics? All I can find is the 9 and 12 pack sets from 1979. The ones I am talking about defiantely have ESB figures.

only in death would i probably get to own one of those. i would assume that they were packed with what ever excess was left by the release of the next wave .

The 7 and 4 packs released in 1980 and 81 respectively were packaged with random figures but each one contained a "new" never before released character. The "new" figures were packaged on generic black, ESB cards have come to be known as the infamous Sears Canada vacuformed figures because they were vacuformed and didn't feature bubbles. There were 7 different ones are while the prices have come down significantly on them, they're still very rare and sought after.

I know for sure neither of the 2 sets we got had any of the vaccuformed figures as we kept all the cardbacks from the sets. I assume they were included with only the later released stes?

The set compositions were pictured on the back of the 1980 and 1981 sets but not the 1982 sets. The exact set compositions can be seen on the Canadian Star Wars Gallery ESB page here: web.ncf.ca/cn333/esbfigs.htm
