All I need is a few weapons and a red lightcycle to complete my collection. I never owned any of these figures as a kid and don't even remember them being in stores. You can check out the Tron gallery on the main site at www.action-figures.ca/tron.htm

I really hated the fact that Necca re-released these figures a few years ago. I hate re-issues . I wonder if they look exacttly the same or not.

does it really bother you? personally ive never cared about vintage i just want the things i want, if official identical figures are made later im glad to be able to get a mint version hopefully at a realistic price, but at the same time i dont think these tron figures were all that expensive in the first place and am very suprised they would get a rerelease.
have you seen the medicom ones? there nice but expensive.

Same thing here, I got the NECA re-issue, all four figure for a cheap price. The do look nice, but I can't tell the difference with the older ones, like you 10Incher I wasn't aware they came out when they did in the 1980's. Overall I think some line weren't as availlable here in Canada. To compensate we had tons of Sears exclusive!

Wow....I remember those as a kid. I had Flynn, Tron, Sark and the yellow light cycle. I wonder why Yuri(I think that was her name) was never made. She was pretty much a main character.

Aside from the makers name does anyone know if they are exacttly the same or not? I think I remember reading somewhere that the Necca figures were slightly shorter but I've never had one to compare.

I just bought a few vintage complete TRON figs and to me, the NECA re-release seems to be an exact match. However, the vintage stuff will have the original year and manufacturer stamp on the back leg. If I didn't see it in the pic, I would e-mail the seller to confirm it existed and was visible. So the NECA re-release really didn't affect me.
As for caring whether it's vintage? Well that's a personal choice, and I can understand both mindsets. I mainly want vintage stuff, but if the market is always going to be too pricey, then I'll settle for a re-issue. I really only did that for some Takara G1 Transformers though.
Ther appeal to owning a vintage figure over a re-release though, which I would think is obvious, is the historical value. To look at it and know this thing is 20-30 years old is cool to me.

The Neca and Tomy releases may be identical but the disks are not. You cannot stick a Neca disk in the back of a Tomy figure. The Neca disks are bigger and not compatible with the vintage Tron figures.

I need a warriors staff if anyone has one?
I do not mind reissues if they do something different in the line...the tron reissues were the same except a small adjustment to the way the disks stuck in the figures back.
