I have three things I want to accomplish with this thread,
1. Learn a little more about the interests of others on the board, and give the new members a chance to up that post count in a legit way.
2. Find out how people display their collections.
3. Gauge interest to see if I should start a thread to unload my shoebox full of early 90's non sports trading cards and my mid 90's CCGs.

Yeah, I collect cards too. I have a soft spot for the Panini stickers from the 80s. I also like series such as Garbage Pail Kids. I am a game player, and have my fair share of ccgs. I may add some to my site (I think I have a page for Panini).
Sadly, the cards are mostly in boxes, with the better ones in binders. I have been meaning to create some wall displays, but it has not yet come to the top of my long list of things to do.

Im suprised not many others have posted here. I love non sports cards. My most favorite however were Xmen Fleer ultra 95. I also have a complete collection of the Gijoe trading cards from the mid 90s. I also like the CCG cards of Tomb Raider and others. Never played the games but I have a few packs in binders.

I used to collect all kinds of non sports cards in the 70's and 80's. Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi were my favorites. The first ones I remember getting were Welcome back Kotter cards. I also have complete collections of Raiders of the lost ark, Grease, Gremlins, Close encounters of the third kind and ET. I have tons of other cards, ALF, Mork and Mindy, Dark Crystal, Dukes of Hazzard and so many more I can't think of off hand. I have some of the sticker sets too, my favorites were Wacky Packages! Plus tons of Garbage Pail Kids.

I was weened on a pack a day - GI Joe cards. Followed by a massive bunch of Star Wars my mother found on a city park bench. At about 10 or 11 got into cards a lot at school (more trade buddies I guess) with Garbage Gang & WWF. I kept a mixed bunch for years after that Dick Tracy, TMNT, Batman, Goonies, Marvels, which evolved into picking up fantasy art cards- Brom, Vallejio, Achilleos, Ploog etc.
Now apart from 80s scraps (and Magic decks) I have only three sets - Chromium Fleer Ultra Xmen 95 (incomplete), Frank Frazetta and Chromium Conan III.
My first ever cards were three packets of Lotte's Mazinger background cards with transfer. Amazingly I've kept the wrappers although I must have been really young at the time.

I managed to complete the Garbage Pail Kids cards (both regular & giant), posters and wrappers. I also got the complete Trash Can Trolls, Bathroom Buddies & Meanie Babies. These were the lesser known cards by Topps that were similar to the Garbage Pail Kids. For some reason I was never interested into Wacky Packages, but my little sister collects those.

I have a decent collection of GPK's all from my childhood. Well, mostly all. I bought some stuff a few years ago including a box of unopened 6th series and a couple of posters. Was just looking at them today. I also loved the Panini sticker books. I had He-Man and a bunch of Disney ones. I still remember the smell of freshly opened stickers...fantastic. Never completed a book though .

I had the complete Wacky Packages book! Only have a handful of those but they're sure ahoot! I have complete set of T2, Jason Goes to Hell, Dick Tracy, MOTU sticker set, Rambo sticker, Weird Ball, Batman Returns, Monsters in my Pocket and bunch of random Star Wars, Star Trek, AD&D, Creature Features and monsters cards from the early 1980's and up. I'll sure be looking for further monster card, GPK, any action figure set and TMNT stuff in the future.

I used to have 100s of GPKs. Sadly, they were all stuck on my old school bed with a dresser built in underneath. I still have tons of other sets though Simpsons Dick Tracy TMNT Universal Monsters GI Joe Dinosaurs Attack Roger Rabbit And tons of others from tv and film to comic and horror. I prefer non sports cards over sports cards any day...unfortunately, the majority of investment is in the latter.

I was weened on a pack a day
Me too. When I was in 6th grade I used to eat a bag of chips for lunch instead of buying an actual meal so I could use the leftover lunch money buy a pack or two of GPK when I got home.
I loved NSCs when I was a kid and I still do. I don't devote too much money to it, but over the years I've picked up 6 complete GPK sets (Series 2, 3, 5, 6 & 8), a great underrated series called Dinosaurs Attack (Super gory and very controversial when released in '86 or '87), a great GPK rip-off called Grossville High, and the first two sets of the original Topps Star Wars series.

I was a big fan of GPK and all of the TV/Movie series that came out in the 80s. All of my childhood cards are gone but I've been collecting unopened vintage wax packs for the last 8 years or so. It brings back so many good memories looking at those packs and I really love the art style that goes on them. I've amassed a pretty good sized collection over the years.

I do collect some non-sports cards too. Well, actually, I used to. I let this part aside for many years now. I still have hundreds of Magic The Gathering cards. I started at the end of the 3rd edition and stopped around the tempest extension. Any players here ? Got panini and panini-like too. Cartoons related to the action figures I collect.

I was always way into Marvel Comics, so the first series of Marvel Masterpieces with that beautiful Jusko artwork, I was way into them.

I absolutely remember Grossville High. Once I'd completed whatever GPK series was out at the time I was looking for a fix and found it with GH. Personally I love the series, so much so that I picked up a full set on eBay a few years ago.
Sure it's a little dumb, but the card art is colorful and nicely detailed. And since you can pick a full set up for $4-5 bucks, it's definitely a nice companion series for GPK fans.

Yeah, I suppose they're cheap enough. I remember I had all mine in a stack and I couldn't even bring myself to keep them in the same box with my "Pails". Wow, I was a snob even back then apparently...

I collected baseball cards as a kid just because my friend did. Never watched sports, still don't. I just thought that was funny. I guess I just enjoy collecting.
I remember Garbage Pail Kids, but not the others you all mentioned. Cool stuff.
I toyed with Star Trek cards in the 90's, but was quickly disillusioned with all the chase cards.
Recently I started collecting the cards that came with some of the action figure lines I collect like Playmates Star Trek, Mannix & ROTU. That's about as far as I'll be going with it.
