For the most part almost everyones collecting preferences come down to one of the big 4 they were into as a kid. Which line were you into of the four and why? I was into Star Wars all the way back then and didn't even own a Joe or MOTU figure until I was an adult. It was the movies that did it for me as well as my TV channels not airing the He-Man or GI Joe cartoons. Transformers came a little later on and I did own a few, but was starting to get to the age where I had other interests than toys.

its hard to say becuase i was into them at different points really hard. 82- 85 i was super into he-man before thet it was my12" mego hulk. from joe's started trickling in for me around 84. but i didnt start really going for joes until 87. and transformers for me was from 85 but i didnt have too many until around the headmasters. when my hands were faster than their eyes i was also super into comics even more so than the toys until the mid 90's. when comics started getting lame. and with star wars they were always the low end gift or the youve been good so you can get the 50 cent figure from that rack at oddjob. though i did own the early bird set but that was due to my uncle who was 16 when starwars came out so he got the figures and gave them to me. ive always loved the movies and i loved the ewoks when i was a kid. but they toyline always sat in the shadows for me and it still does i collect them but not too hard and i only like certain pieces

All of the above. I was into SW and Joe until about 84 and Transformers and He-Man until about 86-87.

My parents never had money for Transformers so it was either Star Wars or Masters of the universe. I was never really into the Joes till about 88-89. I enjoyed playing with Star wars but never really cared for them til I got older and had a chance to actually see the movies. I'd have to say if I had to go with 1 line it would be Masters of The Universe. I was at the right age to actually appreciate what I was playing with, not because my parents just bought it for me. I had all the toys right up to the Snake-Men and Rock warriors which is when I lost interest and stopped asking for them.

yeah thats about where i stopped with motu. i remember being super psyched when i saw king hiss. but the last ones i got were terrorclaw and flyingfist together from toys r us. i didnt get another motu toy until 1988 or 1989 i cant remember exactly but it was when k9 came out in theaters with jim belushi and the dog . after i saw it in the theater i went to kaybee and they had motu up front for 1.99 and i saw king randor. i had to have him. but after that it was long behind until adult hood.

I was an all around 80's kid! I was 12 when G.I.Joe and Transformers came out. I had the Joes, the bots, The Gobots, Silverhawks, Thundercats, Muscle men, and Star wars. But it was mostly the Star Wars vehicles, because then as well as now, the figs were boring. And The transformers were the best alongside of the Gobots. Even now at 33, I have a huge collection of all of the above, ('cept SW. My wife collects those). It really bothers me that the Gobots are getting a bad rap. Hardly any sites are out there showing them off and hardly any kind of info. Transformers are everywhere, but I think the little guys, (the ones we all thought were fun back in tha day) should get a little recog too!

I was into Star Wars the most, followed by G.I. Joe, then Transformers and MOTU. I wasn't into MOTU or Transformers very much but I did have several figures. MOTU just wasn't that interesting to me, and Transformers were way to expensive when I was a kid with a $5 allowance.

At some point, when I was a kid, I collected all of the above. However, Joe was the toy line that really won me over.Star wars was great but couldn't compete with the articulation & cool gear of the Joes.Transformers were neat but for some reason just lacked a good play aspect for me (but then I was never big into hot wheels or cars either).Liked He-man a lot & had a ton, but the Joes were my Favorite. In fact, it's the reason that I came back to toy collecting.

It's gotta be Star Wars. As most kids of the late 70's & early 80's, I collected the figures(didn't get into the vehicles 0r playsets too much). I "took a break" in about '83. I started getting back into it in '95 when the first wave of "Power Of the Force 2" stuff was released and I've been collecting since, although there's been a few I've said no to(anything with "action features", give me super articulation anytime). I'm an opener, unless it's something like the 25th Anniversary 2 packs or the 500th Vader. I have a few vintage figures.

It all started with Star Wars for me. I was 7 when the figures were released and my dad bought everything for me until i had money to buy everything else. I also had every G.I. Joe until maybe 85-86. Never really had any TF's though unfortunately.

Wish I still had a few of mine.

I voted Transformers. But man Joe was a fraction away. While I was into all of them a lot at various points, during my childhood Transformers really took hold of us boys around where I lived. Star Wars had ended and the toys were lame to us. The other 3 ran roughly at the same time but MOTU guys looked way to similar and the toon got boring quick. Joe and Transformers were neck and neck and while we all had more Joes than Transformers, that was mainly a money issue for all of us back in the day. Plus the Joe toon did a better job of tying in the toy marketing. Showing off new guys that, hey, just happened to be available! But TF's unique coolness was just to big. 2 toys in one was just insane back then. And the toon was so damned cool and like Joe, had some sort of continuing storyline.that had us glued.

when I was aki my top 4 were. MOTU, Star Trek. Dukes of hazzard and Knight rider, beetween about 87 abd 90 I collected all the joes up to that point, I belive the Dreadknocks were about the last wave I collected then sold them all to be able to party it up in grade 7 and 8. I had the base and everything; my favorite was the stealth bomber and still is.
