wasnt sure which thread this fit in but thise seemed most likely to me. i myself am not religious and i hope this doesnt offend anyone in anyway. but this is my bible greats collection. these are 3 3/4" scale figures. there was a larger mego style line going back i believe at least as far as the mid 80s. to the best of my knowledge this small scale line started about 88 till about 94 or so. they seem to have been mostly sold in religious book stores. i think its a pretty cool pretty obscure little line. heres jesus and a loose john the baptist. samson and joshua. david and a larger goliath figure. and daniel in the lions den. these are the other figures in the line, they are just solid one piece uvc figures. i dont know what these 3 go with. the nativity scene set. oops edit, the nativity comes with everything shown in the picture. calvary hill playset.with a movable cave door. bible village house.which comes with a table. the kings temple with throne. none of the above sets came with the figures pictured. you had to buy the pvc set to get all the figures for the sets. and my personal favorite. the jonah and the big fish set. its the only set that actually comes with figures. 3 pvc figures and a cool articulated jonah figure.it also has a pretty cool boat with sail and a big whale you can put jonah in. this set i didnt even know existed. its not listed on the back of ANY of the other sets or figures. i just stumbled upon it on ebay once and ive never seen one since. leaving me wondering if there are other sets i dont know about?

I've never seen these before, I have one of the Mego-like larger ones but the 3 3/4" are new on me. The articulated figures look pretty cool, and the Jonah and the big fish set is great Nice line, thanks for posting.

thank you gort and genesis. i LOVE the jonah set. the articultaion and quality and simpleness of the figures always makes me think of the dragonriders line which are one of my favorites. imagine the hours of fun. if only there was a lucifer or a few demons to do battle with.

hehe. i actually kinda dig religious figures, if just for the reason that someone ACTUALLY took to the time to create/market them. i like history figures also, and (not to debate the history of it) some of the designs are cool. there are some cooler goliath/david figures out there right now that i might try and pick up.

Made by Praise Unlimited in 1984-85. I got the info from an old Tomart's hardcover book I have. There's also David, Goliath Judah's horse and chariot and Noah's Ark. Edit-- I just noticed the pic deadpool posted. Those ones came out in 1987 from Rainfall toys. A little smaller it looks like. The bigger ones came in windowed boxes instead of bubble cards. Again, I am just going by my Tomarts book as a guide. Both lines are included in it. It looks like Bible Greats was a ko of Bible Characters. Rams

some of my absolute favorite lines are these little independent type lines. i like the bible greats, dragonriders of the styx, and legends of the west way more than i ever liked motu, sectaurs, or thundercats or any of those bigger namebrand lines. you might think of course i prefer those lines because the others i named arent in the scale i collect. but its more the other way around, the reason i collect 3 3/4" is because i always liked those lines more than all the heman sized lines. i do like the old vintage lord of the rings line though, but dont collect it because of scale and price.

Someone should put that monster hand puppet from the MOTU Fright Zone coming out of the cave in Calvary Hill. Sacrilegious?? Yes. But also awesome.

I had those Bible Great toys in around the early 90s. I was a bit rough time in my life, but I had so much fun playing with them. They took my mind off of a lot that was going on around me. You really can't find them anywhere, and I have really tried to look all over. Your very lucky to have them.

I have a small collection of religious figures. There's Judah, two NotMegos, Bibleman (there's a few different versions of him out there), and a 4" Sampson holding his hair. The Sampson was from a series of figures (4 in the 4" format and 2-3 in a bulky 12" style)whose name escapes me. I've got a Goliath from the 12" line but he's been modified. I also have a small playset (figs are about 2" tall) of a blindfolded Sampson bringing down the temple. Oh yeah, and a BuddyChrist from Dogma.
