i have gaggles of these guys. they started being produced by bandai in japan. under a few names most notabley translated into monster eggs. they were sold in just about every form possible. from insects to farm animals and everything in between. in 86 mattel bought use of a couple to jump on the transformers bandwagon.

Gamera was Daei's answer to godzilla ironically(at least in the last Gamera movie made in the 90s toho now owns him apparently)

may sound a daft question but were the films world wide?, also what were the films like?

they were released in america and are available(some at doller stores lol!) they are slightly more cheesy then gozilla movies but gamera takes a lot more damage and his monsters have a uniqueness about them(one of them is a giant knife lol!) but are still fun to watch.

I think Good Times or Brentwood has a set out of his movies that I picked up years ago and they are a hit when we have reunions with all my nieces and nephews. I paid like 5 to 10 bucks maybe for the box set and there are like 8 movies or so in it, I think. I need to pull them out and have a look.

Yeah meteorbs that's the one. I looked them up a bit and saw that silly robot one you mentioned. Otherwise all the animal ones are pretty cool. They were one of my fave toys. And yeah, strange they came out with He man ha.
