Kinda like if Xevoz and Bionicle had a baby... ...they're X-JOINTS!!! These were made/released around 2002 by Play Mind tot company. I had gotten these out of the clearance page at smalljoes.com which mainly sells G.I. JOEs and other military and 3 3/4 inch scale stuff. These guys are about 7 or 8 inches tall with pop-apart ball and socket construction. Your classic pull apart customization toy! I hadn't even heard of these at the time and it's hard to find any really good info about these nowadays. I'm not sure if they were even released in stores! I'm guessing they were kinda obscure. Anyone know anything "special" about these or even familiar with 'em in general? They made the larger humanoid figures and smaller robot guys with light-up parts. Larger ones had action features and firing projectiles. All can be popped apart and reassembled and combined. They made six of each size...I'm missing one large guy and two smaller ones.

There seems to be two "camps" of characters...the straight-up robots and the more animalistic and semi-organic looking dudes. Aside from coming apart, you got a key with each guy to activate an action feature...here you go.... Their little hearts or power cores or whatever could also be removed from the clear plastic part on their chest and be used just like the key.

Some figures have small projectile launchers...so small I kinda wonder if they meet safety standards. Look at this thing! Makes me wonder...maybe this is why I never saw 'em in stores or even heard of 'em?

Here's the nice, colorful stamp on each guy's crotch courtesy of Play Mind! I had never heard of this company 'til I got these. They came in large clear plastic ovular containers with red lids...nice for storage of loose parts...I think the smaller guys just came carded. I've got to dig around for the instruction booklets...can't remember their names off-hand...also need to show off pictures of the ones I don' t have.

Gotta fool around with my stupid scanner to get pics of the booklets...too much glare in a photo...should hopefully have some up before the end of the weekend.

Finally! I hate technology! Bah! (I'm such a hypocrite) Some pages from the booklets to show the characters I don't have! The large figure's name is Dethlok.
