hey does anyone here collect the galoob star trek line? I had this line as a kid and always wished that there were more toys available for it. I never really liked the playmates line and the galoob ones fit nicely with my star wars figures. I think that I will try to get all of the figures again. Shouldnt be to hard only ten of them were made.

I always thought about collecting this line and would probably get into the day I run into a good deal for a few figures. I really like the line as well as they have an "old school" look to the figures. Wasn't there more than 10 figures released? I thought it was around 14 or so.

nope 6 enterprise crew and 4 aliens. Wesley Crusher and A romulan were in the works but the line was cancelled. The romulan prototype looks cool though.

I totally forgot about these. I had about 5 or 6 when I was a kid. I even remember buying them at KB toys. I also had the diecast enterprise. It was super cool because the saucer seperated from the engines just like they did in the show a few times.
These were super cool figures. Much better than the playmates line in my opinion. Thanks for the memories!

I collect Galoob 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' figures. again, it's a pity Galoob never made ones of Counselor Troi, Dr. Crusher, or Adm. McCoy; or released Wesley.

I once had three of the crew member, didn't realize I had half of the crew they produced! May well look to get these one of these day, they're nice and fit nicely with the Star Trek: The Motion Picture 3 3/4 figure by Mego.

I think that the line did not do particularly well and was cancelled.

Recently was able to get a loose Selay and Antican in a trade. The aliens are actually pretty cool figures, I am keeping my eye out for the Ferengi & Q. Saw the 2 ships on Ebay a few months back, they don't seem to come up very often though.

I remember my step brother had a bunch of Star Trek Next generation fgures around 1994. They were pretty awesome but the later figures didn't spark that interest like the early ones did for him. The Worf and Borg figures were nice but my fave was Riker. They weren't particularly as exciting as other figures out there as Next generation was more a talking driven show and was more about the ships and space battles with minor skirmishes but the figures were fun. I used to watch Deep Space Nine but when i moved to America i sold off my videos to help me here. I recently picked up a second hand Deep Space Nine novel and it has sparked that interest again as Star Wars just doesn't have the same magic anymore.

Tons of figures in that line (TNG). If someone got into it they'd probably have a blast collecting it. They were on the shelves forever. They had pretty accurate faces. My dad and I would watch that show together for years. Good time spent when I was a pre-teen and early teen when you don't always want to be around your folks. I think I got into that show slowly at first and as we kept watching it we were continually amazed at how good of a show it was. My dad would give the subsequent Star Trek serieses a shot, and I think he liked one of the following ones pretty well. The Next Generation was the only one I ever got into though. Whenever I need a sci-fi fix I usually go for one of the old favorite movies or try to find an old one I missed. Something about sci-fi from the mid 70s to mid 80s does it for me even if it's an obscure one that doesn't have the greatest story or effects.

I love me some Star Trek, I watched all of the series, even Enterprise! Deep Space 9 is definetly one of the best. They had a war that raged 4 seasons! I liked the Playmates Trek figures, even though they were a little cartoony, I just wish they made a 3 3/4 line of figures. Maybe the new movie will spark people's intrest, it would be great if they made a line of figures and they all came with a piece of the bridge. They could do it fir all the series, you could make some awesome displays.

I hope the new movie will cause a blitz of "Special deals" with Star Trek stuff. I would love to get some Deep Space nine dvds so hopefully the new movie will help in that regard, like if Best Buy drops their prices on the boxsets or something like that. With Star Wars completely saturating the market it will feel great to have another space oriented series of shows to get into again. Battlestar Galactica was great but it finished recently too. Star Trek sort of got annihilated after Phantom Menace came out and i think it is the perfect time for Star trek to get a resurgance. Love DS9 and want some of those dvds soon. Great show with great story arcs and character development.

i have always liked Startrek ... i didnt start watching till late 89' ... i too watched it with my Dad ... from the first episide i'd seen "Elementary, Dear Data" of season 2, i was hooked and the universe of startrek exploded into my hobbies! i had the galoob figures (most of them anyways) and there were away missions that had to stop an imperial advance or rebel terrorist attack (yes starwars figures .. and even a mission where Picard went on a diplomatic mission to jabbas palace) when the playmates figures came out .. all other collections stopped .. it was ll i collected for about 3 years (it was during high school so i was into the social thing hence the collecting delay) with the new movie coming out i dug out the DVDs and have been watching the movies from 1 to Nemisis .. man theses are fun movies and great toys! i wish i had not lost interest in startrek (due to trekkies & trekkies 2 ...scared the crap outta me .. i couldnt be like that ...) the art asylum figures were great! i have managed to get the lacutis of borge and a few others .. never did get teh other borg ones though i havent got any of the new figures (from the current movie) but im glad they run the size gauntlet i hope they redo all the series of casts in the "new" 3&3/4 scale cuz the 6" line would be waaay to expencive! i probably wont be seeing the new movie, at least till i hear its not an "action packed" startrek blasphemy but i cant say there wasnt i time that i wasnt tempted ... about 0.68 seconds (get the referiance )

I saw the movie on Saturday and it was not that bad, I did not have high hopes for it and it basically blasts the star trek continuity out the window but it was funny and a decent movie. The funniest part was Kirk taking the Kobiashi Maru test.

You seem to have the same attitude as I have going into it.

I'm catching the movie tomorrow, I can't wait! Regarding the Playmates Trek line, I love it! I still prefer the Playmates ships to the newer Art Asylum/DST ones. They're bulkier but better made with clear loud sound effects.

i loved the short lived galoob line, that unreleased romulan would have probably been in my top figures list.

I was just wondering if anyone knows where (if at all) I can find A large Hi-res picture of the unproduced Romulan and Crusher figures (cards and figure). I wanna make custom cards and put a pic of a small cardboard cutout of each figure with a spring on the back on each card and put the bubble on top. I dont plan on ever being able to find an actual example and if I ever did couldnt afford it, so I want to have a sample of what they would look like hanging next to the rest of the collection....

yeah the shuttle was a good toy- there was a really lame mini ferengi ship too. when these toys came out i was working in a comic shop- we had all of the stuff in, and i remember we got some info for the romulan and wesley- i heard it was because they didnt come out that galoob lost the licence but i have no idea if its true

Wesley Crusher...worst-action-figure-ever!
I could get into the Playmates DS9 figures if they made them 3 3/4" ( I think someone already said this). But they made doubles of the normal characters like Dax and Sisko then skipped out on the interesting characters like the Voorta and other random aliens. It's like having a Star Wars collection full of Han Solos and no Greedos.

Maybe a licensing issue? i used to work in a star trek collectors shop many years ago- we did mail order and the boss ran the uk star trek fan club and organised one of the biggest uk conventions- we were one of the first uk retailers to stock the galoob figures, and i remember him telling me that they lost the licence because they were unable to make new figures quickly enough- the planned wesley and romulan never came out and this was the reason they lost the licence- i dont know how true that is but thats what i was told and it does fit.

I sought this out because I saw what looked like the Romulan prototype in someone's avatar?
I remember seeing the two ships at a Lionel Kiddie City and then hearing for the longest time that they were never produced, but of course now know that they were. I remember Wesley and the Romulan shown on the back.
