I sought this out because I saw what looked like the Romulan prototype in someone's avatar? I remember seeing the two ships at a Lionel Kiddie City and then hearing for the longest time that they were never produced, but of course now know that they were. I remember Wesley and the Romulan shown on the back. -J\/\/ I am kind of obsessed with finding the Romulan and Wesley. I missed a decent deal on ebay a few years ago , then another seller put up a set at a ridiculous price in the thousands. I don't have a lot to contribute to this thread but I am still a big fan of this line by Galoob. The Ferengi fighter and the shuttle craft are really well made in my opinion. For a while it seemed like the prices on ebay were too high for the aliens since they were typically easy to find cheap at toy shows. I ended up with 2 sets of most figures at one point just because I kept finding them for around $2.00 or $1.00 each. I don't know what they sell for now.

So were they actually released in small quantities or just multiple prototypes? Your avatar is the first time that I've ever even seen a photo.

Sorry I don't know a lot about it. The one I saw on ebay a few years ago came from a former Galoob employee. I can't imagine that very many prototypes exist. I would be very surprised if there are more than 100 each but don't quote me . I am just speculating.

Personally I'd never collect anything from this toy-line except for extraterrestrial companion-figures (if any), but my specialty is mini-figures, especially monster mini-figures. I do love The Next Generation, though, especially Patrick Stewart. My favorite Star Trek series has always been Deep Space Nine, however. Do any of your know whether these two companion figures are from The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, or Voyager? I already know that they're definitely Star Trek and that one of them is a "targ", and I'm not very concerned about which series they're from, so this isn't really a toy-identification question per se. I wouldn't mind a more specific ID, but primarily I'm simply sharing a couple of nice photos of Star Trek toys (hopefully from the correct series!). Enjoy I attempted to upload these two photos to this forum, but I received an error message stating that the forum has exceeded it's attachment quota and that therefore no further attachments will be allowed. Thus, I have no choice but to provide links instead: www.flickr.com/photos/monster_in_my_pocket/14068579985/in/set-72157629293928711www.flickr.com/photos/monster_in_my_pocket/14068545445/in/set-72157629293928711

I tried posting this reply 20 minutes ago, but I must have done something wrong. (Newbie!)
Anyway, I passed up on the Wesley and Romulan Galoob carded prototypes offered on eBay about 12 years ago - just just didn't have a spare $1000 knocking around. (But - AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I was actually wondering if anyone knows just how many different versions of Data Galoob released? I have three: 'Speckled Face', 'Blue Face', and a kind of pasty sickly looking one that I think is the version they finally went for. Were there more? (Gotta have 'em, gotta have 'em...)
Personally, I don't understand what Galoob were thinking of when they chose to release the Antican and Selay figures - they were in ONE episode! (Okay, so I bought them anyway, but surely they could have chosen characters that might have had more popular appeal!)

By the way, the Targ was one of the accessories that came with the Klingon figure in Playmates first Series of Next Gen figures, and I think the other one is a Cardassian Vole. (Don't hold me to that though, I took all my figures off the cards to display - I recently sold about 2 1/2 kg of accessories on eBay 'cos they were a pain in they proverbial s!)

One would have thought that they would have made more aliens for the Star Trek lines for the crew to meet and have battles with.

Hmmm... One would think so. Have you seen the unreleased sets that they had planned for their Aliens Micro-Machines line? (I would DIE to own one of those toys! Well. okay, I wouldn't, but it was such AWESOME stuff!) I Personally think that Galoobs Action Fleet Dropship is the BEST movie tie-in toy ever released. I have waged a personal psychological war against myself for YEARS! I SO want to take it out of the box and play with it (I'm 50 years old, for goodness sake!), but the Nerd in me insists that I must keep it in the box!
What I can't figure out is how Galoob made such cool sets for Aliens, Predator, and Terminator, but they totally banjaxed the STTNG line...

About the Data, I just have the 3 you listed. I have noticed some speckled faces are so different that you could almost call it another version.
