Well, now that the year is coming to a close in a few weeks, I wanted to start a thread where everyone can post what they thought were the rarest, hardest to find or most sought after figures that were released in 2009.
I'm really not to much into newer stuff outside of 1 or 2 lines, so to be honest I really can't think of anything to post. Lets hear what everyone else thinks though. Curious to hear what the hot items of the year were/are as I really don't keep up on these things.

Well the only line I really collect that is current is the Marvel Universe 3 3/4 line. The hardest two figures to find for me have been Grey Hulk and Bullseye. Although not really rare since ebay has at least twenty of each for sale. I just prefer to not use that paticular service. Hasbro has done a great job on this paticular line of re-releasing figures in later waves, so with a little waiting you usally get what you want. But no Bullseye yet, which is a shame because villians are lacking so far. I had to buy some Cobras' to have my heros fight.

Actually now that I think about it the JLU Batman Beyond &Cheetah 3-packs were supose to be impossible to find at retail. Same thing tough you can find some on Ebay but the price is starting to creep up there. I don't think you will see any more in stores so my advice is to get them while you can and before the price goes higher. I'm waiting on a pair i got for $60 shipped from a seller from Hong Kong which was one of the best deals for these that I could find.

as far as MOTUC is concerned. King Greyskull is easily the most difficult to get, based on his price right now. However, in 2010 they will be rereleasing him i believe. in 2010, the subcription figure "Wun-dar" will probably be the hardest to get without a subscription. I think i read over at the org that they only created as many Wundars as there were subscriptions, so he will have the most limited release to date.

It's the 2nd wave of Prince Caspian figures. They never hit major retail stores, only a few small chain drug stores. In addition, there were two deluxe sets released internationally only.
They might not be the most sought after, but they are definately impossible finds.

And I found a Grey Hulk today, so Bullseye is the only MU figure I've never seen.

I have yet to find the maskless Artic Storm Shadow, has anybody else been searching for it like I have. Storm Shadow is my favorite Joe so that's why I'm kinda interested in getting that variant.

A buddy of mine has the unmasked Artic Storm Shadow, I have never seen him in stores, I think he may be one of the rarer ones in that line. Gi. Joe is the only new line I collect, and I wasn't a fan of the movie, so I don't get many of the Rise of Cobra Figures, but I did have to pick up a City Strike Snake Eyes, that guy is awesome!

I'll have to give it alittle more time cause I'm still finding the Artic Storm Shadow so I'm hoping it's just a matter of time before I come across the unmasked version. I have 2 of the City Strike Snake Eyes but I'm waiting on at least one more before I open.

I managed to get ahold of some of the 2nd series of Caspian figures, but looks like it will be a rough road ahead finding the others I need.
