I just wound a Website with pics of this MOTU knock-off line. They are pretty cool figures, though I have never seen them anywhere outside of this site.

my question is were all of the figs on the website produced/released? I just got a complete sun man and the book that came with it only has 6 figs in it not 10 like on the site above. Were there any vehicles that were made for this line? Are there any variants? Is there only one bad guy (pig head)? I have been through the other posts on this line and these questions werent answered Thanks

8 total, 3 Sunman 5 others. No vehicles. However the one vehicle , the Sunman bandwagon is officially full.

Indeed nice! Are there 3 head variants among your 4 Sun-Man or I'm I just seeing things? I fear I've become a variant addict. And what's up with Rulers of the sun? Were the line released under two names?

Were the line released under two names? Their have been 3 or so different cards. I've actually go to look at the card that I got the Flat-top from it was one with art of him on the card front which was new to me. The heads are reflective of him growing up and was changed to reflect him getting older. The fat one (Arnold) Thin (Willis) and flat top.

It's true my Sun-Men aren't appreciated. Hell, I don't even think they've ever been displayed. My taste is with the 3-3/4" brothers, the Bronze Bombers. Besides everybody knows the BEST thing Olmec ever made was the J.J.Walker doll. He's DYNO-MITE!!!! Bronze Bombers and Sun-Men were just fodder for the poor kids.
It's funny that all the cheap toys from back in the day, are the most expensive now. It's Karma, He-Man is a bitch!!!!

I so want these figures someday, but the price has always overwhelmed me. I understand why they are rare, but man I love the whole story behind them and the BBs and that is part of why I like them I guess.

Finally! I found one...well...won one. He's missing his spiked brown shoulder harness, but has his original shield and morning star. Aside from wear, he's awesome! In case you don't know who he is, he's Pig Head...the singular villain from Olmec's SUN MAN toy line. Basically, Sun Man was an alternative to Masters of the Universe. Look it up, and you'll see what I mean...I don't think he should rightfully be considered a knock-off. Anyway, Pig Head is Sun Man's brightly colored nemesis. They supposedly made a cast of hero buddies for Sun Man, but I've never seen any in person. Anyone else have any in-person shots of these toys? Aside from Sun Man and Pig Head, I believe there were at least six other guys.

Ok - Just went crazy and picked up a Nr-Mt carded Sun-Man ( Flat-Top Version ) for an insane $91.00 on Ebay. Crazy pricey, but I REALLY, REALLY wanted it! So, I can't find the Sun-Man thread anywhere on the board. Does anyone have any pics of their figures? I never see any other than a couple of the vesrions of Sun-Man himself.

Enjoy your Sun-Man. Very cool little toyline. Also, not to piggyback your thread, but I'm looking for a loose Pig-Face. Few people here likely have one; if you're interested in selling please contact me.

Sun Man eh. Meaty is definitely the man you want to talk to. I think he has every figure from that line under the sun (no pun intended)

Thanks for the great pics, the links and the thread guys! I'm officially hooked on these guys. Something about having to work to find rare figures really seems to motivate me. It's all about the chase!

Mattel certainly did reach an agreement to gain a small percentage of the profits from Olmec, the company who produced Sun-Man figures, in exchange for the rights to some Mattel molding (namely torso shape, scale of figures and arm musculature. As Mattel had some interest in this there were whispers about a 'Sun-Man vs. Pig-Face' two-pack ltd redesign in the MOTUC line.

^ Wouldn't surprise me in the least. I can easily picture Pig-Face cackling along with Beast and Merman.
