I was at Walmart today and they have a G1 Optimus Prime with a 70 minute DVD, copy of the 1st comic book and a noise emitting shield. Was very cool until i got the price scanned. $69.75 Sweet baby Jesus and the orphans that's expensive!!!!

Not bad considering what an authentic G1 will cost you. Plus, he's mint!

I am not sure if it is a G! though, it looks like it but may have been made with the old moulds. Which brings up a good point. Is a figure made with the original moulds today worth the same as one made 20-25 years ago? I wanted to get it for my son's Christmas but at that price it's a bit much. It IS a good collector's piece however with a 70 minute DVD, an original looking Optimus Prime, a copy of the first comic and a snazzy looking box to boot. I will probably get my son one of the newer Primes from the animated show.

Basically the same. There are little differences in lot of the G1 primes. But come to think of it, my Pepsi Prime from last year was only $30. Beware of eBay, there are a TON of KO's. the Ani's are really nice, too. You may want to get him him this one. Unfortunately, it's only at CostCo, but it's only $37. It's one of my favorite Primes, and I would have loved to have it when I was a kid.

A week or two ago, I was in Walmart and they had all of those new Optimus' clearanced for $35! I grabbed one up. I have to say though that the plastic feels a lot cheaper now. I transformed him once then put him back into Truck mode and the gears where his legs attach to his waist look like they're already wearing down a bit

I bought my son some Transformers from Family Dollar for $3 each, they are called Transformers Universe - Spy Changers. They are dated 2006 on the back. I bought him Jazz, Prowl and Hoist. All they had were Autobots. I am curious as to if any Decepticons were ever made in the line too, if more were made (ie a second series etc) On the back it shows Optimus Prime Jazz Prowl Hoist Mirage Camshaft
No Decepticons are shown and also Camshaft, Hoist and Mirage have see through plastic while Jazz, Prowl and Optimus had solid plastic for their parts.
My son loves them and plays with them constantly but his Autobots are outnumbering his Decepticons. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a list (with links to pictures) of just about every Spychanger made, foreign and domestic: tfu.info/subgroup/spychangers.htmI'm not too familiar with the Camshaft Spychanger though. Let me know if you find one similar to it on the list there, since the Spychangers shared molds... a lot... lol. Hope that helps.

I just ordered from Hasbro:
Transformers Universe Deluxe Hound w/ Ravage, Galvatron, & Prowl... I am so stoked, I can't wait!
What do you guys think about this line? I have been watching a lot of reviews and commentary on youtube and that still has not discouraged me from getting Galvatron.
Does anyone know if this line will be continued? News on this line?
Hope this finds you all well.... And yep, just means I gotta make room... Time to thin the herd some more...

To add to this... I spent an evening looking through over 1,700 Transformers at: www.seibertron.com/transformers/toys/galleries/I was drooling, and making my lists of robots to investigate and do research on... Wow, that was fun... Strongly encourage to visit and look through the alphabetized listing.

Nice Slm! I'll have to keep my eyes open for clearance fodder. Hey, on a different note... I heard this last week that Minneapolis had its 1st tornado in 25 years! Congratulations!? My girl is from MN and studies weather research...

Nope, no Ramhorn re-dux that I'm aware of.
And yes, those seibertron galleries are DANGEROUSLY good! Makes me want to spend money I don't have! lol
Yeah the deluxes are awesome and it's great that they are re-doing characters that haven't been seen in a while and as a direct homage to the original. The Sunstreaker and Sideswipe cars in particular are a great example of how to get two 'different' figures out of one mold.
Look out for the Cyclonus and Hound figures too - great updates on some classic characters.
Unfortunately with the rise of the new movie, this line is on "hiatus" for the time being. I do however know that sales have been strong so once the movie craze dies down, we should see it's return.

Holy... thanks for the news man... Yeah, this is a great line, and for someone like me who totally enjoys the nostalgia of the original series... THIS WAS IT! Originally I was only going to get Hound. Hound is awesome! Bought him directly from the Hasbro online store, and followed it up with Galvatron, Prowl.... I was NOT expecting to get into this line that much!!! Then came Cyclonus who I didn't think I would get, but is an excellent figure! Then Starscream... Crap, I can't stop... I have an addiction to this series... I guess it is good that they stopped. Nah... I hope it continues and picks up again after all the movie blitz dies down.
Any word what characters they will do, or re-do?

i know what you mean about the nostalgia. that's what i loved about this series. it had the old school feel, but with up to date transformabilities! i can't stop buying the damn things. every time i tell myself to hold off for a bit, i'm emerged in like 5 more auctions and clearance racks at stores!
i too hope it picks back up. i don't like the rotf figures (even though i do like and did get the deep desert brawl). but with those coming in, all the universe stuff has been quickly disappearing...

Any word what characters they will do, or re-do? At this stage the only characters they've announced who hasn't been released yet are somewhat obscure homages to G1 characters - Hardhead (from Headmasters) is a repainted Onslaught and Skyfall (based on G2 Skyjack) who is a repaint of Silverbolt. I'm still trying to hunt down a Deluxe Ratchet to sit alongside my Ironhide - can't find him anywhere!

Nice collection! Yeah, I m on it. I have had to reduce my toys for an up coming move... however I too got back into Transformers recently. I loved Transformers as a kid, but was disappointed in the pose ability of the robot modes. The classics line is great because in many cases it is paying respect to the G1 cartoon versions. What started me down the path of collecting this line was Hound. Then Cyclonus... then Galvatron... and on... Excellent line. I am very happy with my Transformers and I have actually reduced my Transformers from absolutely many (easily over 100) down to about 20+, with the majority being from this specific line.
On a different note, I went to a comic shop today to look into the new Transformers comic series... just to find no copies. Asked about old Marvel Transformers, and they had none. It's funny because I used to be able to get a handful of Marvel Transformers comics for a few dollars since no one liked 'em... now, a different story. I am glad to see a resurgence of interest into Transformers from the movies, new comics, and toys... but sheesh!
One last thing, if you have not heard, there is going to be a new Transformers video game bases upon the Cybertron wars... sounds promising.
