I just saw on ebay a JCPenny 2 pack of Stinkor & Spikor in a plain brown box. I have also seen a 2 pack with Ram Man and that Orange Eagle. Does anyone know just how many different MOTU 2 packs were put out back in the day? The ones in brown cardboard boxes, not the fancy packaging.

Well, the only 2pack packages i know of, are Stridor-Fisto, Nightstalker-Jitsu, Panthor-Skelettor and BattleCat-HeMan. Classical ones, in other words. That's all.

Yup, those were released in stores along with Hero and Villain 3 packs. What I'm talking about are 2 packs of figures released in brown cardboard boxes. I believe there was also a Hordak/ Grizzlor 2 pack, I just don't know how many different ones they made. Wow, looks like I finally stumped you guys!

I'm not a MOTU guy, but given Mattel's penchant for doing multi packs back in the day, and given the size of the line, I would expect that people will weigh in with lots of other combos. It would kinda surprise me if there weren't . We'll see.

Plain brown packaging? I don't remember those........ I've only seen them with box art.
I know there's a FF He-man and TC Skeletor one.
Has anyone ever seen a 2 pack that comes with the read-along cassette and book? I think the Hordak/Grizzlor pack came with those.
It's funny, when you look in a Tomarts or other guide, they only list the 2 packs that include a figure and a steed. Nothing about multi-figure packs.
These things are hella expensive!!! If you can find them.

I was a little inaccurate. The boxes are brown, but there is box art on them. The one that's on ebay, and I'm horrible with computers otherwise I'd post the link, there is a drawing of Stinkor and Spikor on the box. The auction # is 310142128742 It's kinda cool, Stinkor has Beastman's body instead of the Skeletor body we're all used to. Aside from the drawings however, there is no color on the box at all, none of the red and blue we're all used to. I saw pics of the Hordak/Grizzlor and the cassette, it's friggin sweet, but the same two figures were also available in a brown box without the cassette.

Wow. Never seen boxes like that. I never knew such a thing existed. Must've been promotional or available from the JCP catalog only?

I know, I have never seen them in any price guides, of course I haven't looked lately. The only place I ever see them is on ebay. I would have bid on the Stinkor/Spikor set but there was crayon scribbled on the box, and both the figures' rubber bands were broken. It sucked, they were both sealed in their plastic bags. That is some crappy luck.

That is some crappy luck. The rubber bands breaking thing is something that has always turned me off from MOTU and GI Joe. But mostly I just like the look of solid construction figures more. Anyhow, I was wanting to know if it is acceptable in the hobby to replace rubber bands, and does one need some kind of tool to do it? If it's not acceptable it should be those things are just gonna rot and break anyways, right? Or is what ticked you off that they were both sealed in the bags and had broken rubber bands that way they couldn't be repaired?

Stinkors and Spikors are a dime a dozen, the fact that they're still sealed sets them apart and proves they're from the set. It's acceptable for me to replace rubberbands if the figures are loose, but I haven't had to replace that many of my Cobras over the years.

Cool, that's good it's accepted to replace rubber bands, probably just so long as you disclose that when you sell it. Yeah, it seemed to practical for it not to be accepted. Maybe you should have bought that two pack anyways seeing how it's the packaging that sets it apart. Anyways be patient and I'm sure another one will pop up and you'll be ready to strike.

I was really considering getting it, the opening bid was $10, if no one else had bid on it, I would have definetly scooped it up. You may be right, I hope I don't regret letting it slip by! If the legs weren't broken, who knows what it would have gone for?
