Anybody else gotten these figures? I like them very much in quality with the old Joes and I prefer them in that way cause I think Hasbro has gone alittle overboard with the articulation on the 3 3/4 lines lately. I have yet to see a regular John Conner but it's cool to finally get a hold of a 3 3/4 regular Terminator figure. My only complaint is that the biceps on most of these figures are pretty skinny.

picked up 6 of these figures today, not too bad, i actually prefer them over the trek galaxy line, also treated myself to the cadillacs and dinasurs figure set, didnt have any of them, running out of lines to collect at the mo, looking closely at the swamp thing figures

Living now as we do, it seems i have more spare time than if i was living in Post-apocalyptic Los Angeles in 2029, where of course you wouldnt have much spare time due to the fact around every corner theres a T-800 or worse T-1000 waiting in the shadows wanting to blow you away.So i thought that during my spare time today i would do a quick review of the new "Terminator salvation 3 3/4"figures. With the demise of playmates on the "figure" scene of late is was great to see them explode into the high street with this new line of 1/18 (3 3/4") figures, unlike Art asylum who have been sticking with the 6" style of figure, it seems playmates still think there is a market for the "Star Wars" Styley, but are they onto a winner? The most difficult part with launching a new toy is the packaging, have playmates got this right? Actually this time round i think they have, it looks futuristic, its got a scary appeal due to the big red eyes in the top right, so it draws you in, the figure is clear to see, but is this figure aimed at 6 yr olds or the collector market? The packaging does look a bit kiddish, lots of colour and i can see a gun, but hold on its not a gun, it is infact a "resistance blaster" oohhh, and a "High tech rifle" i think the overall explanation of the gun wasnt needed. As usual with playmates, the case is secured with tacky tape making is difficult to open the figure without actually ripping it to bits (unless you have a steady hand and a scalpel within easy reach), and as usual theres the 300 "wire" style wraps holing the figure in place. So the figures themselves? You can tell there terminator figures, you have the half man half cyborg (T-600) and the familiar cyborg (T-700), although the later does look and feel very flimsy and if put along side the "Human figures" on a playset the terminator wouldnt look at all intimadating, in fact if i was the "John connor figure" i reckon my chances of kicking the arse of the T-700 pretty good. The problem i have is the "robot figures" they are very bland, i know theres not a lot you can do, as there a set sculpt and you get what you see, but they could have made the accessory a bit better than a "crushing angle iron"? However i am impressed with the "human figures" (oconnor and barnes), they look and feel great, although i was dissapointed to find that the head dosent swivel, you are a bit knackered if you have a terminator shooting you in the arse and you have to turn your whole body around to see him!, also we are back to the "no movement" on the wrists, so in some positions he can look a bit retarded. Although "Marcus" looks about 12 years old, the likeness is pretty good, but i have to say my favourite is "Barnes" not only does he have the same surname as me (Which automatically makes him cool) he really looks mean cmon..... you see a guy with a beard, in shades and wearing a flak jacket waving a machine gun around, you know that if you mess you are gonna end up seriously fooked! Finishing up we have the T-600, jeez this guy is HUGE!, towering above all the other figures with a whopping great Gatling gun.... run for the hills guys ! This Bad Boy means buisness. The detail is great even down to the "shredded shorts", although im dissapointed that it looks slightly out of place next to the "regular" size figs i do think it was right to have done this larger, he looks more menacing. So am i happy with my purchases?? cmon im a 3 3/4" toy figure collector.... do i really need to answer? ill be back.........

I don't plan on collecting these, but it looks like Playmates did a better job on the 3 3/4" figures from this movie than the Star Trek movie figures.

This isn't an attack on bay, this is a comment on figures in general: The comment about Hasbro giving too much articulation to their 3 3/4" figures gives some weight to the idea that there is no way the toy companies can please everybody. I haven't always liked everything the toy companies have done with their toy lines either, Hasbro in particular, but it seems collectors of the same brands want different things. Back in 1995 when Hasbro brought Star Wars back, collectors complained about the lack of articulation.

I had an interesting find at TJ Maxxx with finding a A-10 Warthog with Blair for 12.99, the funny thing is I never knew it existed and never saw it in any of the other retail stores. Was my area just lame in getting this or did they just sell fast?

I think the line pretty much flopped, so some stuff went straight to the discount outlets.

Hit a few Walmarts which have the 3 3/4" line on clearance, over the weekend and found only the John Conner, Marcus and T-700 figs. Hit another today and finally found only one each of Barnes, T-600 and TRIP among the piles of the three listed above (they seemed tougher to find). Had to pickup the last figure I needed - Battle Damaged Marcus at Super Store which has them all marked down to $5. It was the only one there and seems to be the toughest figure to find from the set.

I've seen these figures at Five and Below for 4 bucks each and TJ Maxxx has brought down the prices on their stuff as well. I wonder when TRU is gonna finally start to put their stuff on clearance?

Walmart was down to $3 each before Christmas, they still have a few left in my area. TrU also finally discounted them to $5 each and $15 each for the vehicles. Picked up the Warthog and Hunter Killer but missed the Motorcycle as I passed on them the first time I was their. Anyone know if the Cyberskin Generator Playset was ever made? I know there is a Deluxe Harvester thats out from the unproduced 2nd series but I think thats it. Heres a link with a pic of the 2nd series John Conner figure www.scifi.co.uk/blog/memorabilia/playmates-cancel-terminator-sa/

Oh man that Harvester looks so sweet! I would have loved to have seen a a second series from this line but overpricing and just a bad movie equals a quick sales/clearance at retail. I was lucky just to find the A-10 Warthog at TJ Maxx and never knew really that it existed till I saw it.

I broke down yesterday and snagged that Harvester off Amazon for $30. There seems to only be 2 sellers on Ebaywith one and both were more expensive. I have a feeling it will be tough to find one off these in the future.

Never saw it at retail in my area, but there are a few Ebay sellers with it, so maybe only a few certain areas.
