On a rare (for me anyway) Saturday trip...stopped at Toys R Us. Looks like they're finally getting new "generic" stuff...and it's Chap Mei stuff. As far as I know, nothing truly new, but pirate stuff is back! I'm guessing it's meant to ride the coattails of the next PotC flick. About time! Check the military toy aisle. I've noticed they've been slowly adding medieval role play stuff, and I had hopes for some time of seeing figures. The closest we've got were the army-man style playsets of knights and such. Over time, we got pirates and other things. I was pleased to see bigger figures and playsets, at least on the pirate front. Will we see medieval stuff soon? I sure hope!

I hope so too on the Medieval stuff. See the banner in my sig? That's for Chap Mei's new Medieval Kingdom line, and features some fantastic pieces. A lot of folks are thrilled to see the Pirates Expeditions and Soldier Force and Rescue Squad (True Heroes) showing up in the States again, I can tell you that! I myself cannot WAIT for the sets in these pics, as one glance should tell you they're quite awesome! Especially the Griffin is high on my priority list, but the cyclops and two headed dragon steed are real must haves too!

......oh......my......GAAAWWWDDD!!!! It's almost hard to believe! I really hope these do show up in the States! The packaging for the pirate stuff at TRU was pretty generic, though. There was a large playset (with pirate ship), two medium sets, and a figure pack. If we do end up seeing medieveal stuff, I'm hoping we get the castle...I never saw it in person. Those new monsters are awesomely awesome! Sadly, I cut back on my collection. Most of my other Chap Mei stuff is gone. I kept all the sword 'n' sorcery stuff, though...my faves!
Here's to hoping!!!

Wow! The new line is awesome. Is it live yet? The double headed dragon: WTF?!?!? It's out, but I've only had store reports from Ukraine, Turkey, Russia, Czech Republic and Brazil. Very frustrating! You should join my forum (link in my sig) to see some more sets.

Got ahold of these boys lately...probably paid waaay too much for 'em, but here they are: Obviously, one is clearly the classic Tri-Tremis snake man figure released in oh so many lines with Chap Mei figures in 'em. I've heard of the Hercules line by Chap Mei but never saw packaging like this! Something rare? Released in 1996 by Ja-Ru (still make junkie novelty toys to this day)...probably as a knock off to the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys toys. As you can see, there appears to be two different cards. The dragon set has a taller card. The snake figure has a shorter card with a decorative motif around the bubble border. Speaking of which, the bubble on the dragon pack is form-fitted to the figures, where the snake's bubble is flat with an interior tray. I never saw the weapons done up with vacuumized metal plastic before! Too bad we never get to see any major color variations on that snake guy. I've gotten a butt-load of him over the years...all the same color...c'mon Chap Mei! If you're gonna wear out this figure mold, at least mix it up with the color schemes...sheesh!!! My guess is the other styles for the Chap Mei figure are just the classic re-used monsters we always see...the centaur, the bat-guy, and probably the Hercules figure himself. I have 'em, but the darn things are buried in storage at the moment. The dragon set actually intrigues me moreso. I'm into that kinda stuff. I have a lot of those mini-Imperial style vinyl monster figures and am always trollin' for more of that sweet, sweet booty! I never saw that figure before, though. I'm kinda wonderin' what other mini-figs were made/released with this line. Anybody else got any of these in there collection or remember having or seeing 'em? I wanna see more! My guess is that the other styles for the two-pack are the line-up of the other mini-Imperials. I have several versions of the solid monster figures. These I dug out, considering they were "less buried" than my Chap Mei monster men. Scope the line up: Never saw these packaged until now...maybe. Kinda wondering the exact origins of the solid mini-Imperial monsters. One day, I'll find out...one day...one day............

Wonderful stuff there - I've had that three-headed snake-man thing for a while now. Got told it was a Chap-Mei thing, nice to see the packaging. And those two in the other package look a lot more appealing than anything else in this thread so far

Just saw single carded Chap Mei figures in the supermarket here. 3 Euros each is really expensive oO and the artwork of the cards suck. Maybe I'll take some photos later.
