Anyone else have the collecting blues for new in store figures?
I can not seem to get excited about any new lines. I visit Toys R Us monthly with a wallet full of cash but can not find anything to spend it on.
I am always looking for nice figures but is there such a thing anymore?
The last series I picked up was the newer Corps figures. I got all of them the first series of singles, then the second series of three packs...but nothing new has come out for them in a year. They are really nice figures and seem to sell well but where is the next wave???
I almost grabbed the Ben Ten figures, nice figures but I was not interested enough to pay 10 bucks a pop for them. 15 + figures to...so close to 180 bucks for the line.
I do collect JLU and the new Star Wars figures but we never get the newest waves so I have to eBay them.

I really only picked up Zizzle's 3 3/4 inch Pirates and LOTR back when it came out, but aside from my main collection Star Wars 3 3/4 inch, everything new I get is found at flea markets and yard sales at 5 % of retail. *shrugs* what can I say, our toy stores aren't that eventful when compared to the US. I enjoy collecting for the hunt, so a Spiderman classics for 0,20 cents is cool. On card for 14,95 it is a big MEH.

It has been kinda meh, I have picked up one 5 pack of 25th Cobra figures, and several of the Corps figures, a few Knock off brands that I will post about later, but there has been such a lack in originality in some of the newer brands I like. Ben 10 needs to be updated, we need more figures for that line. I want the Comic 3 packs of Joes back out. The prices for some newer brands have been up too. I do like some of the Chap Mei Pirates and Knights but they are old waves and are only sporadic at stores, sometimes even under a different company's name.

The only figures I can remember buying at retail in the last few months were a couple of Daleks and some Cybermen from Doctor Who. There's very little else that catches my interest of late, and what there is seems overpriced.

My toy collecting has been in the blues for awhile , It's rare I buy any new toys , Actually the last new fig I bought was TMNT Karai a few years ago, I liked the fig, the new star wars and the 25th joes all look really crappy to me , I hate the plastic Hasbro uses now, ,, even my kid brother hates the new lines , I gave him a AWE stryker and he said "OMG" the front wheels move and it's got shocks" I think that sums up most of the new toys
My vintage tastes have been on LJN D&D ,

Man they haven't had diddly crap at The Dollar Store or Big Lots for a couple of years now. It's been very depressing. Finally...thanks to the Transformers movie, Big Lots is overflowing with TF, Sentai, Gundam and other robot knock-offs. Too bad I only had about 20 bucks last time I was there. I could've spent $200 easy. I did score a GodMarz for $13.00 so it's not all bad.

I wish some old vintage over stock would make it's way onto the shelves. Anyone remember the Silverhawks influx that occurred in the late 90's at these close out stores? There were cases I tell you...cases! Now that was a close out cream dream!

I don't go to retail stores anymore, since only a fraction of new toys I'm interested in are carried by them. All my new purchases are online. Pretty much through CornerStoreComics.com. Whenever I am in a Target, TRU, etc for some other reason, I'll wind up walking out with a new Star Wars character I don't have and add it to my big Star Wars cabinet. I think this year, aside from the odd SWgrab, I've gotten a Transformers Robot Hero 2-pack (Soundwave & Bumblebee...had to get Optimus & Ravage on TRU.com) and the Monster Cereal Kubricks. Frankenberry, Count Chocula, and Boo Berry. Thankfully because Toy Tokyo is a quick train ride from work. Got all 3 carded and an extra Frank loose for in front of my keyboard.

Sometimes Dollar Stores can and do yield some interesting things. Yesterday I found these "Space Warriors" for 0,99 each. There were four. Two molds, four colours. I left the blue and silver versions. They came with standard issue Chap Mei Police Force guns. Still though. Kinda nifty.

Those I like, kinda nifty indeed Most of the best stuff I see these days is in 'Dollar Store' type places. In fact that reminds me, the last thing I did buy at retail way this (of course over here we get Poundland, not Dollar Store, so all this crap ends up costing us two bucks!)

Check out the figures I found at a Euro store here in the Netherlands. They look like 'Imaginext' type figures. Two different sculpts, two different masks, four colour variations. All came with a ridiculously oversized double mace and a nifty shield (with Chaos symbol, heheh)

If it werent for customizing .....
My strolls through retail outlet toy aisles are usually no more than 20 seconds long.
20 seconds.
The price point combined with the lacluster product just kills me everytime. Id rather buy a cheap knock off toy and simply "upgrade" it with joints, paint, etc. etc. than purchase any of the major players product. It seems that anything of interest to me is more likely to be found via an import shop or online. Even then with the restrictions on my personal collecting habits its hard to find items that end up on my shelf.

Anyone ever go to Toys R Us and notice that they still sell old action figures that are like 3 years old or whatever? The one that I go to now and then they still have that comic book wit the three figures which is Lady Jaye with the Eivel Kneivel helmet and the two Cobra troopers.
Then there's some odd World War II action figures that are the size of G.I. Joes

Zellers is really bad for this, they still have Max Steel and Heman items!!!
They never mark the items down in time to catch the last bit of interest in the line..............and once they miss that it sits for ever.
What is the worst about this is the department only has so much room for toys so the old junk takes up space and maybe limits space for new stuff?
Also why o why do they have only three pegs for star wars and they are always empty....I am talking about Zellers...man they suck! (Canadas Zellers is = to U.S.A.s K-Mart in most ways)

Anybody ever hear of Magwarriors? It's a fantasy line by 'Mega' that I found in a store today. It uses magnets for articulation like the Micronauts. It works surprisingly well for a 'modern' line. Check them out. Both the Hellhound and the Black Knight have electric glowing eyes. They're nifty, I like them.

I have seen these in the stores, but that is one of the coolest ones yet! Did the Knight and the Horse come together? What do the sets like that go for?

Yeah, the knight and steed sets were priced 9,98 Euros and the larger Knight with 'portal' sets were 14,99. They were on clearance or something. What I like most about this set I found out later: The Hellhound steed has removable legs too and that means you can have him stand up and fight along the Knight. Sort of like Bravestarr's 30/30 could, only that never looked good with the toy. This looks smashing. I'll post a pic later.

Normally I don't go for the Marvel 6" stuff, but I was in town and noticed these guys. Quite remarkably, they were at a chemist's, like say the UK has Booth's, and they were only 2,50. At that price I couldn't resist Ah, and of all places, I saw this new cool Chap Mei stuff on Youtube. Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsCV-9Uy4h8
