As an avid fan of both Masters of the Universe, Conan and about any 1980’s fur undie Barbarian guy I started collecting these hulking scrap of heroic plastic known as Conan the adventurer. Conan sure looks like a half-wit thick head with is tree trunk sized unarticulated neck and big empty blue eyes but this line is sure fun. There are only 8 figures in the series, so it’s fairly easy to collect. The villains Wrath-Amon and Skulkur, a snakeman and an undead warrior, are nasty and colourful. A bit less fluo color scheme would have been nicer, but it's 1992… The Conan variants are barbaric to the bones with regular fur undie Conan, Explorer Conan with a horned Viking style helmet and fur coat, Armored Conan and (sigh) Ninja Conan, who look more like some Mongolian warrior which suit the Cimmerian hero well. His comrades are pretty neat sidekicks: Zula the jungle warrior with his Lothar like fur shirt and Greyswolf the magician. On top of that came two oversized Horse and rider set, one of Wrath-Amon and one of Conan, the two being repaint of the regular equipped with shiny armour and big shields. All the figure have a string activated action feature who swing their sword arm, shoots arrows or make their torso move. Anyone else collect these? www.virtualtoychest.com/conan/conan.html

I have a set of these in a box somewhere. It was back when I bought everything put out in stores. Conan's face looks too juvenile for my taste.

Oh, yes, I remember seeing an article about this, but I never saw the actual show. Can't remember the name... But it sure was a Conan the Adventurer action figure that was used, painted to look nude with less tan and blonde hair.

[glow=green,2,300] I HAVE THE ANSWER.[/glow] The show was called "Action League Now", which was actually a segment on a show called "Kablam." The guy's name? "The Flesh." There's plenty of episodes of Action League Now on Youtube. Check 'em out.

I have been debating wether or not to pick up a set of these figures. Would be cool to see pics of the horse if anyone has one to post. On another note, what did everyone think of the cartoon?

The horse sets are the best toys in the line. I was working at my local TRU when these came out. The hprses had a pull string action that would make their front legs 'stampede' and kick their opponent, best feature ever on a horse.
The cartoon was worse than the toys. If you like Conan, steer clear of this stinker.

I'm lucky enough to own a complete mint collection of these Conan figures. I got them in a discount store while I was in college 10 years ago for £1.99 each! I disagree about the cartoon. It's fine for what it is!

i love the villains from the series, especially SKullkor. didn't know they made a needle mini-figure, i'd like to find one of those.

I actually really liked those toys as a kid. It would have been easier to collect them if they had been a smaller scale though :/. More villians would have been so cool, maybe a snake soldier. I remember it being really disturbing as a kid to see his family get turned to stone in the intro to every episode haha

Although a massive Conan fan since age 6, I never could bring myself to buy these, not in '92 and not now. In fact I won't even take a McFarlane Conan (they look cool but they ain't action-figures to me, just statues). I have a McFarlane Xaltotun however. I have the Remco, would love the Mego... but even as a 12yr old I always thought the Hasbro looked too... soft, friendly? Man, I hope they release a 3 3/4'' line to go with the movie!! I'm over McFarlane's 'unplayful' Conan chunks.

I was looking thru past threads and noticed there was nothing on this toyline here. Does anyone collect it or did in the past? I was thinking about trying to hunt down a few; at least Conan and the top bad guy who looks like Serpentor. At any rate, the cartoons pretty good if you havent seen it before: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Wqlqy82SnkPlease post a picture if you have some of them. Let us know your overall impression of the figure/figures as well. This doesnt seem to be a popular line. I wonder if its for a reason?

i had the evil horse with the bluish-green variant of wrath-amon, along with the 8 figure base set. i traded off the 8 figures. actually, i think the person i traded them to only wanted 3 or 4 of them, but i insisted they take the whole set for the same trade bait as they were offering for the 4. the horse too had to go. just waaaay to bulky! and the chrome plated armor fell off all the time and was pure ugly. the villains looked awesome, but still, the posed legs on skullkor annoyed the hell out of me! still the best figure in the line though. i thought about picking up another skullkor, wrath-amon, & zula (mostly because zula reminded me of an african american version of steven segal) figures moc sometime. and maybe track down the demon horse again. the other 5 figures pretty much sucked. i'll hold out though, since they pop up for next to nothing continuously everywhere and available for ages.

Mmm. There's a joker with a store across town - has both horses boxed. Initially I was excited 'til he mentioned he wanted $100... for each!! He isn't greedy, he just doesn't know how to value his toys. He figures they're big, they're boxed so they're $100. This said, he'll sell you a minty fresh DC Super Powers figure for $2 - cos it's small. I think I'd really rather hold out for a Legendary Heroes Conan (that has to be the best Conan figure ever IMO)

Had it been official Conan I woulda' bought two, I'm sure. Anyhow about Adventurer, the use of a pull cord for an action -feature really isn't that common is it?
