ive never seen them, but it looks like the seller has ended them which means someone must have made him a nice offer. they remind me of the packs of lead role playing minitures i use to buy in hobby shops back in the early mid 80s.

I asked the seller (when he first listed these) for clearer images of the back illustrations, but he refused unless I bought them...Nice guy (not!).

what would you consider a far price range for an ogre king shield shooter in pretty nice shape and complete?

I would say $80-100 is what I've seen on Ebay. A REALLY nice one just sold for around $100. Buy It nows have gone for more though, and they aren't very common.

that might be the one i just bought. im just wondering if i overpaid too bad, not that it really matters because its one of those things where ive been just missing out for serveral years now and decided its time to just bite the bullet and get one more figure out of the way. and the shield shooter ogre king and the star wars blue snaggletooth both hold a special place for me because they are the 2 rare figures i actually had as a kid and were 2 of my absolute favorite toys not even knowing they were apparenlty harder to find. and its one of those things where they both mysteriously vanished during a move when i was in my early teens. i specicificly put them in a box with my other figures and when i opened the box to unpack it those 2 werent in there but the other toys were. i didnt have one of those dads that would throw my stuff out because he thought i outgrew it so i know that didnt happen. and none of my friends were there that day helping us move so none of them snatched it. also this was still the mid 80s and no one would have known these were rarer or more valuable and the other toys were still there. it has driven me crazy for years wondering what happened.

The one that went for $103? I was going to bid on that too and put a max of $100.50. I don't think you overpaid, really, they vary so much. I mean, I paid $79 for my Northlord SS and I saw one that sold for $165, the prices are really all over the place. The one you bought (if it's the one I'm referring too) looked really nice in the pics. He also had a Tiamat I was going to bid on also, but right now money's a little short.

yeah thats the one, ive been staring at that one that has a buy it now of $150 for a long time now and wondering if it really goes for that much. it seems like i never see complete ones so i wasnt sure what one would go for in an actual auction. i made my bid and was actually sort of suprised i won, but like i said it was one of those moments where i have been missing out for a very long time and decided this is it. overpay or not im tired of searching for this figure all the time. ive never even looked for tiamat because i know that one goes for alot. i was watching a carded mercion a few weks ago but it ended at a time i totally couldnt be there so i didnt even bother bidding, i came home and looked that thing ended for like $5. that made me mad as hell.

Here's many of the "Good" characters as video game sprites. This includes some rare characters who appeared in the coloring books, stickers but weren't made as figures (because the line was cancelled). Can you name them all?

That's cool...Let's see if I get them all correct...
Left to right in the top row: Bowmarc, Elkhorn, Strongheart, Peralay/Melf, Ringlerun, and Mercion. Front row, Left to right: Deeth, Hawkler, Figgen, Valkeer, Garn Grey Gaze and is that Charmay on the end?
I've made customs of Charmay and Figgen and I'm still working on a custom of Garn Grey Gaze.

Yes you are correct!! I've seen pics of your customs, they are fantastic! I can't wait to send you a copy of this game when it's ready, I think you'll appreciate it more than anyone I know. It's a mix of gameplay like D&D Tower of Doom/ Shadow Over Mystara along with RPG elements like towns you can go into, NPCs you can talk to and buy things from. Garn, Figgen, Hawkler etc will all be important NPC's. You can play as Strongheart, and he can summon Elkhorn, Peralay or Ringlerun to assist him. Some enemies in the game are Warduke, Kelek, Skylla, Grimsword, Zorgar, Hook Horror, Zarak etc. The story takes place in Greyhawk, during the Greyhawk Wars between Furyondy and the Empire of Iuz. If you could PM me your email, that would be great. Also, do you accept commissions on customs?

Hi Warduke, I regret that I can't do commission customs, as I don't have the time. I still have to upload more custom photos here in my customs thread. I look forward to giving your game a try...It looks very cool.

Figgen?! Damn, I remember him from a childhood colouring book. Nice to see a low key character fleshed out in that style.

The game is a combination of the old Capcom D&D sidescrollers Tower of Doom and Shadow Over Mystara type gameplay:
with Ultima type RPG elements (towns where you can talk to NPC's, buy equipment etc). Think of it as an old school Elder Scrolls with 2-D sidescrolling graphics starring LJN toyline's characters.
Yes, it will work on PC. It runs on an engine called Beats of Rage (OpenBOR) and it's free. If you have a PSP I believe it runs on that too. Controls on the computer are simple -- arrow keys to walk around, and a few buttons to attack, jump, cast spells, use items, talk etc. There's a main quest and several side quests. The game is called DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: THE RISE OF WARDUKE
Here's a teaser:

Hi 3 3/4" Collector, is there any way I could please trouble you for some good photos (or scans) of the monster and character artwork from the back of that D&D gift set you won?

I'm trying to put some nice nods to classic D&D in the game. One side quest involves stealing a ruby eye from a giant idol. If you've seen the old players handbook you'll recognize where the idea came from:)

Here's another piece of pixel art inspired by D&D covers -- I never thought this was supposed to be Warduke, but some people say it is.

Did anybody see the fantastic D&D Aboleth bendy Prototype that sold a short time ago on Ebay? It went for over $800...here are some pics of it... I had no idea that there were any un-made TSR prototypes...I just thought it was a really cool toy prototype and wanted to share it.

I agree with you, W....The warrior character looks vaguely like Warduke (it's more of a generic looking barbarian style fighter, though), but I don't think its him either. Nice work on the game versions of those two icons, though.

Holy crap that prototype is nuts! It actually looks kind of creepy. I watch prototypes all the time on ebay and I totally missed that one. Awesome price too, given that it's probably the only one in existence. I don't have 800, but I definitely would have put down 500 for it. Great score to whoever got it!

Indeed, its a very neat figure...The seller said it was made of resin, metal and other materials. The buyer also sold tons of other D&D stuff with this proto, claiming it was all from Gygax private collection (which is very cool).

Oh wow, I missed that prototype. That is awesome! I love the bendies, I have all of them loose, but I really love the Carrion Crawler, so when I saw this one with a crystal clear bubble (AD&D's bubbles are NOTORIOUS for yellowing) and a GREAT card, I had to bid, and I won it!:
