I knew I had a picture of these guys MOC somewhere. Rather than hijack Shuptrine's collection thread further, I thought these guys would warrant their own thread. I collect these, and I'm looking for more These are the ones I have right now: As we can see, these came three on a card: One main character, one crook, and one cop. The crooks use repainted CHIPS bodies. Black 'walkie talkies', rifle, backpack and knifestick accessories. made by Rainbow Toys, in 1984. The cop in the MOC is the English cop. The Bobby helmet. The one on the other card has the same body but a different head, with the more classic US/EU cap. In the loose picture, the guy in the black shirt is the second 'crook'. I also know the Makepeace figure wore a white shirt that reads: "makepeace, not war" for some odd reason. Makepeace in the series was a very posh british policewoman and would never wear a shirt like that. These are 3 3/4 inch figures made from quite brittle plastic, comparable to the Commando Rangers or General Patch. If anyone knows if the Dempsey figure ( blue shirt) contains any familiar bootlegged parts too, that'd be cool to know. More info on the TV series these are based off here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dempsey_&_Makepeace

Great post!
I'm very vaguly aware of these but I've never actually come across any in the wild. I'm pretty sure they never made it into any local stores, although the one that would have been most likely to have had them had probably closed by then.
I feel the need to track down that British Bobby figure if not the rest.

I think VERY few people in the States have actually heard of this one. In fact these are awfully obscure even in Europe, I'd wager. Rainbow toys mainly used its licence to make die cast car models.

They look very similar to all the T.J. Hooker, Fall Guy, Knight Rider, Airwolf, A-Team, etc. figures put out by Glasslite. They were all foreign releases as well.

Here's a visual reference for the Dempsey and Makepeace 'Makepeace' figure. I've obtained one and it's underway, so once I have it I'll be able to post my own pics of the series. The dog's confirmed as part of the series. I have it coming up too. Until then, here she is. It's not the best figure ever *understatement* but I still love the series! Still looking for the Bobby and US policemen. Anyone?

Thanks for the picture reference, Ghool. If I'd run across that figure I'd have never know it was Makepeace (Oddly enough, I always wanted an action figure line based on Blake's 7, the British sci-fi series. One of the characters, Soolin, was played by Glynis Barber who also played Makepeace and I think this is the only action figure of any of the Blake's 7 cast)

I lifted this picture for a slightly better look at the Dog and some of the accessories. Still waiting for mine. Easter. Bleh.

Here's an overview shot of my Dempsey and Makepeace stash. I finally got Makepeace in and she's in great condition, very tight and no wear on the shirt. She also has a rather comatose look about her, but ignore that for now The Dog comes with a detachable leash and has Rainbow Toys on the bottom. That should make it easy to identify if you run into one that looks the part. Enjoy Just two more figures to find
