That's one cool cardboard base! The bootleg collector in me loves it! And yes, the bootlegs you've posted pictures of are Polish (3rd Gen to be specific) and Mex/SA.

I dig it, it would be a nice display piece. I wouldn't have dug it as a kid. It's also missing a few other pieces aside from the shuttlepod.

yeah a few paper pieces for inside. i dont know i dug it as a kid. i liked playsets eve if they were just mats. and this was really fun becuase it was a base,rocketship and moonstation. you could do a whole movie and shoot it all on one set

I started looking in my Sears catalogs for this playset and for a couple older figure cases. It also turned up in the 1980 Sears wishlist catalog. In that catalog they put it with the 3-3/4" Mego Buck Rogers figures.

I opened up the page with the Star Fortress and I couldn't quite see the whole page. I'm glad though,because if I saw how cheap the Kraken was going for back then I would probably have an attack of some kind ! That Fortress is pretty cool. I saw a page from an old catalog that had the Mego bridge playset from Star Trek:TMP for like $7.99. I couldn't believe my eyes.
