I am talking about the old series from the late 70s & early 80s. I only need Vultan to complete my collection. I will probably be bidding high for this bad boy. Check out pics of these figures on the main Website here. I will be updating this section with new photos soon. There was also a Flash Gordon figure released with the Defenders of the Universe figure line.

It's hard finding a Lizard Woman with her tail. I guess the same hold true for Calibos from Clash of the Titans. Does Vultan come with any kind of accessories?

Nope, no accessories with him. I always thought his wings were removable?

You're right! The wings are removable. I guess I didn't pull hard enough. I've had more than one thing break on me while trying to take something apart.

I've been wanting to piece together a loose set but I don't see too many of them anymore on ebay for good prices. A few MOCs now and then more than anything. Its hard to get good deals on vintage stuff these days.

Yeah, i was looking to pick up a whole collection in once shot at first. I ended up getting the first series together but the second series of figures I picked up individually.

I saw one on Ebay earlier this year. Not sure if this was a mail away or a store exclusive. I never really heard about it until I saw the auction.

As of right now, I have all the figures from this series loose except Vultan and Captain Arak. I was going to ask if someone knew how hard a Vultan was to get ahold of, but reading the posts pretty much answered my question. A few years back I had started a collection of these and I remember getting a Captain Arak for insanely cheap, under $10 if my memory serves me correctly.

I thought the gift sets were either Sears or JcPenney catalog exclusives. I bought one years ago off of Yahoo auctions.

Thun and Lizard Woman can't hold their staffs, so I wonder why Mattel even bothered giving them accessories.

With the exception of Vultan, these must not be too hard to come across. I was recently very disappointed as I sold the figures from this line that I had in a lot together. I had all the figures except Vultan and Arak. They all had their accessories except Flash and Ming. I got $17 for the lot, almost $3 per figure. I was expecting to get $25-$30 for the lot which I didn't think was an unreasonable expectation considering these figures are now almost 30 years old.

$17 for the lot is pretty low, your $25-$30 expectations were totally fair, just looks like it may have been a bad time for the lot on Ebay. They are a fairly popular series to collect and should have fetched a higher price than what they went for.
