These are prototypes if I got it right, which is worth a large amount more then a normal figure. Star Wars first shots and prototypes as an example goes for huge prices.
And pretty much everything related to Indiana Jones is expensive, there are a large amount of collectors, even though I guess many collect props etc, I can imagine that they also want the figures since they are related. And that could put in more then just toy collectors into the picture.

That lot went for a small fortune because 3 of those figures were never produced and are highly coveted. I'm a big Indy collector and have the full line of LJN figures. Up until now I didn't know if the Willie or Short Round figures still even existed, let alone the variations. That there was a historical auction.
