Lots don't count. What's the most money you ever shelled out for a single toy (vintage or new)?
Back in 2002, I spent $450 on a nearly complete Takara/Diaclone/FortressX/Fortress-X. I eventually spent three hundred more to complete the missing accessories and restore the thing to NM, but I then sold the spares (along with the box) for $350.
Net cost: $400

$83 on a loose complete Super Powers Cyborg figure.
Although I've spent a lot more on single pieces in other categories of collectible.

I think I shelled out $50 for a mint Action Force Red Laser with the Laser Exterminator, and another $50 for a mint Red Jackal with the Hyena Tank. Other than those things, it is very hard for me to spend over $30 on single action figures - I just have a hard time spending that much on a toy.

I'll be paying Shuptrine for a $175.00 Flex-a -Tron figure in the near future. However , Im reflecting on whats in my upstairs closet .I begin to think back I believe paid close to $300.00 on a damn near mint M.O.C Cobra Commander (about 7 years ago, a lot then and now) . I hope he's still up there. He and the others may have left me due to lack of attention.

I spent 60 on a Viper Piolet for G.I.Joe. I have spent as much as 800 on lots though. I always make 2x or more back on them as I keep what I want and then sell the leftovers....which if done correctly and taking the time to list them you always make a good profit!

I spent 75 Guilders ( and the Dollar was high back then, so about 40 dollars) and a MOC tri logo A wing Pilot as a trade in on a Blue Snaggletooth. That's about as much as I ever spent on one figure.

$295 on santa claus paulie from Rocky V. This is a limited edition figure of 700 which was only given out to jakks employees with all their names on the back of the card. Really cool figure.

I spent around $200 for a complete, loose set of Transformers Seacons back in 2002. I don't know if that's the going rate for a whole set, loose and complete.

I spent $500 a piece on two carded manimal prototypes back in 98. Then a couple of years later I heard they were going to be produced after all this time, and then sold them for $250 each in a panic. Warwolf got made and Zig Zag didn't, so I'm still regretting that decision.
But if prototypes dont count I spent 185 for a minty Cobra De Aco and $180 for a Battle Beast Stone Cobra. I'll probably burst that bubble this week if I buy the MOTU Tytus I've been eyeing.

Bwah! I'm way too cheap to spend that much on a toy! The hunt and the deal is about half of what I enjoy. The most I've spent is $60 on a Go-Bots Monsterous in the box.

Yay! I just broke the four digit mark. Just picked up a C9+ Laser Light He-Man MOC for $1000. But that's only if you include shipping and sales tax I think this will be the first figure I've ever sent to AFA to grade. That's just too much money in one figure to not be encased in hard plastic with three children below the age of 5 in one house.

Back in the day it was $100 for a MIB Vintage Canadian 13" Chewbacca MIB...
As of the last few years: - $170 for a Indiana Jones Chase Kubrick - $160 for a 400% Boba Fett Kubrick
That was 2 years ago and i've calmed down since then. I try not to pay anymore than $100 for a figure these days and that's on Modern stuff. Now that i'm getting into Vintage, i'm sure that will change eventually...

The most I've spent was 40 bucks on a set of tiny PVC Action League Now! figures.
I'd grown up on this show and similar cartoons (I'm 18 now), so when I first encountered these things on eBay about 2 or 3 years ago, I freaked out and had to buy 'em. The tallest one is maybe 3 inches, so I got ripped off pretty good.
The exact same lot sold for 15 bucks about a week later, so I felt like a total idiot.

Most I ever spent lately is $140 american on an Inspector Gadget doll made by Bandai in the 80's. I have mine from when I was a kid in great condition, I just needed the accessories so I stumble upon one on ebay with accessories, box and all. It's coming from Australia so I'm sure the value is more. 2nd most expensive items have been a Robotech SDF-1 and a Power Lords Beast Machine Savior for about $50 each. Figures usually run me about 20-40 depending on if they are carded or not.

Now that I've sold off my Diaclone Fortress X and Great Robot Base (both for nearly twice what I paid!), the most I've spent for an item currently in my collection was $250 for a Bionic Six Secret Headquarters playset. I have no idea what the actual market value of this thing is, but its one of only two that I've ever been able to confirm the existence of, and I'm damn proud to own it. A big thank you to sniper-toys, who sold it to me last year!
