So..is it just me or are the prices of 70's and 80's figures etc. gone through the roof lately. have I just been gone to long and this happened gradually. I mean it used to be a lot easier to find a decent deal on certain lines. NOW!!!! I mean why is Crystar going for 25 bucks with 3 days left in an auction?? Is it just cool to collect toys now or what? Or did everyone get richer and I stayed poor?

I see what you mean. Yes, I noticed as well that many 80's toyline items have now the prices of Royal Jewelry. Look at Arco's Other World for example: a loose, bare Antor is now worth 125$! And what about MOTU's Monstroid in box? 255$! And I didn't speak of She-Ra's Spinnerella: 1000$ a MIC piece! It's all so crazy it makes toy collecting a billionnaire's luxury. Insane. This is why I put limits in my own collecting hobby. When it's too expensive, it's too expensive.

Depends on what line. I've been scooping up loose complete vintage SW and Joes for $5 shipped or less. The stuff that's crazy high for whatever reason seems to be Visionaries and MASK. MASK has always been kinda high, I guess.

It scares me to even try to collect or recollect certain lines due to the crazy prices.
Don't even get me started about anything with the Mego logo on it!

I hope they keep going , I'm gonna start selling off my stuff soon . Would be nice to make some money , rather than loose it.

It is def. a good time for sellers right now. What are you gonna sell off? Everything? Ehh, will most likely keep the odd stuff like Sun-Man, Speclatron, Flexatron , Galaxy style stuff , X-Changers and knock off wrestling . The pop era stuff that everyone is talking about like Blackstar, MASK, MOTU, Powerlords and so on and so on doesn't float my boat anymore. I like the lines actually that are crap like Bravestarr, Sectaurs and cartoon lines. There are collectors now that were just into one size of figure or certain years that now want every line ever made even if they know nothing about it. Pretty much just to be a douches and ruins in for me . The sad part is 99% of my stuff has never been displayed .

Star Wars prices are down. The rest is just supply and demand and some of the obscure lines are just getting more obscure and you got to grab a nice example when its available.

Same goes for me. My entire collection has never been displayed. It's all in boxes and packed away. I just don't have the room right now to put it out. I guess I'm just not close enough to my collection to get discouraged by all the craziness. If a particular piece just goes for too much I pass and try the next time around. I have many avenues so ebay prices are not the only options I have. I find if you are constantly collecting with out a break, the burnout can be real bad. Give yourself a break here and there and the collectors life is longer.

I just tried to bid on a loose Ribs figure from Remco's Pirates of the Galasxseas. I thought I was insane for putting a max bid of $85 and I got outbid! He has none of his accessories! I'm bummed, I don't think I'll ever get that dude or his good buddy Crossbones.

The 2 skeleton guys come up every once in awhile MOC so I would wait out for one of them.

Yes, but the ones I have are complete with REAL gold coins chico! Actually most of my Pirates figures I bought for around $150 each on damaged MOC's and opened them up.
