Ever lost something as soon as you got it?

I recieved a large lot of loose GI JOE figures today with a 1982 straight arm flash that came with his helmet. I was planning to trade the helmet so I replaced it with a accessory pack weapon. When I returned the helmet was gone and I have not been able to find it since. This really irritates me as I just can not figure out where it went. Some possibilites are
1) my 18 month old son who was "helping" me with my toys stole it and hid it somewhere
2) one of my cats stole it and hid it somewhere
3) one of my cats ate it
4) my son ate it (in which case I should get it back in a few days and it will be available for trade)

Anyone else lost a part or toy as soon as they recived it?

Its not the same, but I got a Shapti from Mummies Alive through MOC, opened it and then proceeded to break both parts of leg armour putting it on. I was well pissed

Yep, have had it happen a few times, usually because a cat stole it. Always turns up somewhere though.

I once got a huge accessories lot at a thrift store. There were tons of MOTU, GI Joe, Transformers, Thundercats, Visionaries, Centurions, and Ghostbusters weapons in it. There were also Star Wars weapons and accessories in it.

The main reason I bought the bag though was because there was a Scareglow cape and a Last 17 General Lando pistol in the bag. I saw these items in there. I got home and dumped the bag on the floor and began sifting through the items. I could not find the Scareglow cape to save my life. It appears it just vanished. I took consolation in all the other stuff I scored, but I really wanted that cape.
