Alot of toys from the 90s to today come with batteries included. Such lines like star trek playmtes space ships and the simpsons world of springfield. I've removed all the batteries for fear of corrosion later on just curious what others here do .

I do the same thing...I dont trust keeping the batteries in for a long period of time (especcially display) unless it's something I want to show off

Yes, sir I take 'em out. Same with old consoles or games that require batteries. Truth is, a little corrosion can usually be cleaned, but why risk it or bother with the hassle? Hmm... actually I have a Predator figure MOC (forget which one) from the early '90s with batteries in it. That'll probably leak Bedlam one day, but I still don't intend to open it anytime soon... oh well.

I took them all out of my Playmates WoS playsets. Corrosion and random shouts from Homer Simpson in the middle of the night were the deciding factors.

I remove them from items that are packed. I check them at least quarterly on items that are on display.

Absolutely remove them. Millenium falcons, electronic x-wings etc etc. I take them all out. Except of course for the rare show off of lights to my son....LOL

I wish I could figure out how to get the batteries out of my Darth Vader Death Star transformer without ruining the package (and how to get him back in the way he came).

I take them out especially seeing a lot of cheap batteries are used in these toys which leak and cause damage

is there any way to repair the damage once it has been corroded? I got a Dr. Hyde from Rambo that has corosion all over the battery compartment, Tried to clean it off but one of the battery terminals broke off so I stopped. Any way to get him working again?
