I personally don't, but then my collection tends to be alot more of a case of collecting the whole of select lines, whereas yours from what I can see seems to be more of a random collection where you seem to have the odd figure here and there from over a dozen or so toy lines from what I can gather, based on what you have on display..
With this kind of a collection, where you don't have entire series or lines, the color coordinated approach really does work well. Great job there.

I like what you went with as well - it looks pretty cool, and you actually look a little closer at it to see what all is in there.

Yeah, I got sick of displaying things the same way as everyone else (ie: all sectaurs together, all Marvel together) Too many years of the same generic set-up.
And your right, i'm in no way a completist.

The reason I can't do something like this is that I'm obsessive about my displays. I'd try to find a space to line absolutely every toy up together and do it by color spectrum. Unfortunately, my ideas are too big for my limited time and space.
Great idea. Way to change things up!

Unfortunately, my ideas are too big for my limited time and space. Yeah the later of these does it every time. Most of my collection at the moment is "displayed" in a cupboard being stored away atm because I simply don't have the room to display it- especially the DoE and Captain Power vehicles which just take up a heap of room.

I'm too OCD to be able to go through arranging toys like this. Looks real nice, though.

One form of color coordinating I do engage in involves weapons/accessories. I'll give toys random weapons so long as it matches the color scheme.

I use to do this with restuarant premiums. I also set up a display of a red dinosaur fighting a blue one in a boxing ring, and had all red toys on one side and blue toys on the other (the audience). I made the ring, it actually looked really cool.

muckmonster: I found that at a Goodwill, and it still has the tags on it. I used to watch that show every morning before school. Remember M.T Promises? The villian.
Bowspearer: Thanks

No probs- what was really interesting was the way you'd attached clamshells to the ceiling- I'd never have thought that would have been feasible.

4 or 5 thumbtacks do the trick... (around the card backing of course....not through it)

Fantastic collection, dude. ^ Same as above, love the randomness. It's also got a very old school feel. Love the Camel ad.

Ebessan: Thanks for the compliments. I always ask for empty displays in convenience stores. I just got a sweet Big Bambu rolling paper display.

it's in the 3rd picture down. on the second shelf beneath the Indiana Jones Lunch box. It's not a puppet. it's a plush about 7" high
