Since we have a thread about most heartbreaking moments related to action figures, what are your happiest moments? Personally,I have many. However,a few stand out. My Father used to work for Southwestern Bell and he went to a lot of tech schools out of state when I was young. I was always extra excited when he would come home as sometimes he would bring home figures from those trips.

One of mine would have to be Blade from Masters of the Universe. I went to the movies with my Dad to see the film (which i loved) then when it was done we went across the street (literally fifty feet) to the toy store. There on the shelf was the action figure of one of the guys in the film i had just seen. Great memory.

Spockoda, I have a similar memory, my mom used to always buy me G.I. Joes when she went out of town for business. Man I used to love getting those dudes when she got home. One day before she was set to go out of town I got something from her car and found a Joe stashed under the seat. For some reason it seemed a lot cooler to get Joes from Indianapolis or Houston than from the local K-Mart. Don't know why that is.

That's a good question.... I would have to think it was shopping with my mom and seeing the guys at Kresge (Canadian K-mart) wheel in a hand cart full of kenner boxes containing the first wave of ROTJ figures. I got Imperial Guard, Gammorian Guard, and Boushh ( who in my excitement about the figures didn't realize was Leia in disguse ). I felt so cool that I was the first kid on my block with some ROTJ figures. This was before I had seen the movie, so when playing with them I imagine all sorts of weird and wonderful back stories for the characters. -Chad

I had a bunch of happy moments growing up but none compare to present times with my youngest son, Mason. He is a huge fan of Star Wars and loves to add figures to his collection whether it be loose ones from the flea market or new ones at ToysRUs. I try not to spoil him but he always has an appreciative smile when he gets a new figure

I have told this story before, but when I was about 5 the arm broke off of my Super Powers Superman. My dad fixed it by screwing the arm on. That of course killed the punching action. He went to the store to get me a new one, but they didn't have any. He came Home with a Secret Wars Captain America and Spider-Man. These three figures in the playerd with paint worn condition are my all-time faves.
Another good memory is when my dad made a "robot" for me out of scrap wood. It rough and gave me several splinters, but he was the only autobot who could ever stop Trypticon.

I remember when I used to stay over my grandparents house for the weekend my Grammy would take my brother and I to Caldor where we could pick (1) toy from the toy department and she would buy it for us. I would usually get an action figure; joes, dino rider, etc. and my brother would buy the short lived toys like styrofoam airplanes or the putty stuff you blew up on the end of a straw. The catch was that the toy had to stay at my Grandparents so we had stuff to play with when we went over there to sleep over. This fact never bothered me because it was like my "second" toybox full of toys that I never had time to get sick of. I remember too that there was no price limit on the toy but even at that very young age I realized that it would be rude to ask for snake mountain or something huge like that.

I remember a couple of days after X-mas 88 I went to Toy & Hobby (the local toy super store where I was from- there was no Toys R Us anywhere near by for years) to spend some money I got for X-mas I went to the Action Force section and there were all these cool new figures now called GI Joe The Action Force. I had £10 and they were priced £1.99. I got Storm Shadow v2 (was now a good guy), Iron Grenadier (it was cool to see Destro now had his own army!), Tiger Force Outback & Roadblock and Charbroil (still one of my favourite GI Joe figures, awsome card art and I have every version of him).

From the ages of 9 to 12, my best friend and I would have sleep overs where we'd pull out all my superhero toys, divide them up, spend hours setting them up, and then play out these ridiculously elaborate storylines together. It was insane creative synergy. We'd break to get sleep, wake up, and continue. Many times, these games expanded far beyond the limits of my room and all throughout the second floor (much to the chagrin of my mother). My favorite of these was a time travel story, and every time our characters went backward or forwards in time, we had to set everything up all over again. My toy collection is much cooler now, but I lack a play partner, as well as the free time and the excuse that I'm just a kid. It's generally frowned upon when 33 years olds attempt to do this

There are few moments that I remember vividly in my youth, but I do remember my glow in the dark Remco Creature from The Black Lagoon. I remember lowering him from my bedroom window on a piece of my moms yarn to the ground, then running down the stairs and out the door to the back yard. Then alas I remember the fateful moment that I dropped him, glowing gloriously into the uncapped top of a fence post, and never saw him again. =(

Oh how I miss the days of Caldor, sigh. I had many, many similar memories except it was Jamesway. My Grandmother would let me choose 1 figure. One time while looking through the Joes I was very surprised to find 2 adult men buying Joes and vehicles and talking about their collections. I found this odd. Adults buying toys for themselves? LOL

If I had to pick one happy moment (usually I'm the type of guy who can't pick just one), it'd be the sheer surprise of getting my first Battle Beasts in my Easter basket. I had never seen 'em before in person or through any other means. They were just perched on top of a bunch of candy...I was immediately in love! Me and my brother each got a set. There was a second batch waiting at my one grandma's house to boot! Swee-hee-heeeeet!!!

Well a few memories that popped into my head would be xmas 1984 when i got a bunch of Transformers and a Godiakin Guardian robot from Bandai.
Another would be when i found my original Optimus prime from xmas 84 again about 12 years ago.
I remember long warm summer days watching my rub-symbols on my Transformers turn color. I though that was the neatest thing back then. I still get a kick out of it.

I remember being extremely happy about getting the Tomax and Xamot two pack one Christmas. I was very much smitten with the two of them and I think this was the first Christmas gift that I asked for very specifically. Their paint was so perfect and just a really well put together set of characters. What other line would put a barely noticeable scar on one of its twin's cheeks at 3 3/4"?
