Besides my Star Wars, I owned a Clash of the Titans Calibos, Buck Rogers Twiki, 4 Metal Men, Pocket Heroes Robin with no head, Transformers - 4 small aerialbots, Skids, Skywarp and a few of the smaller vehicles.

man all I did when I was young was play with toys. Hard to remember what I had growing up, I was born in 82 so I didnt have the buck rogers stuff like you had. Even though Im sure I owned some at one point or another. I had tons of thundercats (I remember having ben-gali too) silvers hawks, voltron, motu up the arse, Gi Joes, transformers, go bots. Unfortunitly I lived next to a huge rock pile and there was a sandbox playground up the street. Between that and carbonite freezing (freezing figures in a cup in the freezer) and smashing them free, most of my childhood figures bit the dust. Most of what I have now are from flea markets.

Thats to bad you don't have them anymore but a least you had fun with them. I still have all my 80s action figures from when I was a kid. Also have most of the weapons and vehicle boxes. I used to destroy my model cars instead, light them on fire, shoot them with the BB gun and so on. ;D

I'm not a serious collector but i still got loads of fighers from my childhood ( MOTU , TMNT , GIJOE, and lots of mixed toys) now i only collect video games characters but still have some questions it will be nice if some one helped me 1 - when i was a kid i remember my original skelator had a soft sqezable head and after that with a few years i got another one with a hard head is that common ? 2- i remember a good quality toy line that i had about 8 inc. tall only five articulations.i had a bald commando (lock from lost),a rambo like commando ,a white ninja, and a black ninja and they had a lot of accessorys. 3- i had a GIJOE that a friend once gave me he was a brown ninja but i never know his name iv tried YOJOE but still i think he came with a vehicle.

They had a brown ninja and i don't recall hasbro's gi joe having a brown ninja

Your brown ninja probably wasn't a ninja, but a Cobra trooper of sorts, as those with helmets often wore masks that only left the eyes uncovered. Your particular description sounds like W.O.R.M.S from the Cobra Maggot vehicle. www.yojoe.com/action/87/worms.shtml

I was born in '82 so I grew up with pretty much every toy I'm not trying to collect at age 28.
My #1 favorite was Masters of the Universe. That started when I was probably about 2 years old and my father brought me home the double pack of He-Man and Battle Cat. Eventually I think I had every figure, vehicle and play set in the earlier series (I eventually lost interest). I remember my parents driving into Brooklyn to a toy store (I wish I knew the name) JUST to find the Sorceress who was really hard to find even back when she came out. This particular store had everything Toys R' Us had and didn't have then.
My second favorite had to be GI Joe, which I think I had close to all of. For some odd reason, Transformers was never a big interest in mine, but I did have a few.
Other toys I liked were Ghostbusters, TMNT when they came out and a couple I'd like to get now like Skateboard Smash-ups and Mash'Ems (I took one to "Show n' Tell" and the other kids weren't very impressed).

I was the same as you as a kid. My fave was MOTU, I had pretty much everything (except Eternia & Scareglow) I even had a bunch of extras that I would pick up at flea markets & yard sales (yes, I went every weekend w/ my mom back in the day!) GI Joe was my big 2nd as well. TMNT was right up there for me, as well as Dino Riders, Supernaturals and many other 80's things that were popular back then. I also loved Food Fighters, lol. I too was not heavy into Transformers as a kid, I watched the cartoon some, but wasn't really that into the toys (I could never figure them out). I'm into them now though & wish I would have got more as a kid.

So Scareglow is a rarity today? Funny, because I had him and my cousin did too. I had King Randor as well.

Yeah, Scare glow isn't that rare, I just never got around to getting one. I seen a lot with one go on the bay recently for around $14.

MOTU, Warrior Beasts, MOTU knocks, and Dragonriders of the Styx. I also used to be real fond of Animax... but seemingly lost all trace of them , minus the mini comics.

I really liked Thundercats as a kid. I can remember even seeing them on discount in toy stores in the early 90's and wanting them really bad but had no money . I had a lot of gijoe, but i used to get all my toys as hand-me-downs and honestly i had no idea which weapons/accesories went with which vehicles. i remember really like starcom and army ants also haha.

It was anything fantasy related for me. I really loved the Dungeons & Dragons stuff, Lost World of the Warlord, Imperial dragons and monsters, etc.

i was all about the masters of the universe. and with that, all fantasy figures that size. we had a pamida here that constantly was selling warrior beasts, galaxy warriors/fighters, blackstar stuff on "red light special" clearance racks, so my parents always picked me some up. at the time, i didn't know what a masters of the universe was or warrior beasts. they were all called "he-man guys". but, aside from motu, i loved, still love, and always will love my Get Along Gang vinyl toys! not the little pvc stuff that shows like that seemed to pump out (shirt tales, smurfs, snorks, etc), but the 6-8" poseable figures with cloth clothing.

Whew, I was lucky enough to be both a child of the 80s and a child of the 90s! So many cool toys...hard to choose. I was always a variety guy. Seemed like I and my siblings seemed to have a little bit o' everything. Obviously, the favorites are the ones you had the most fun with. In no particular order, my 80s hard vintage faves were:
G.I. JOE- didn't have everything, but it was a line my brothers and I always loved for years. Perfect size, cool accessories, playsets and vehicles. Great articulation and look. A fabulous backstory rooted somewhat in the "real world". Plenty of toys to choose from. Just awesome!
BATTLE BEASTS- looked cool, awesome concept, great weapons and vehicles. Weird little armored animal-men with heat activated insignias are still one of my personal bests! I played with these well into the 90s and one of the only toy lines I still have my personal originals from.
IMPERIAL GODZILLA- truly King of the Monsters...loved the old movies, NEEDED a toy. Probably my favorite stand-alone figure! Whether I used him to menace my G.I. Joes or rampage makeshift Hot Wheels cities, he went to good use...and I never got rid of him!
Naturally, I loved everything to an extent, but those were my most CHERISHED favorites growing up.

for me, it was Jurassic Park, dont know why, but when i layed eyes on my friends Compund Playset, it was the best thing I ever saw, I managed to grab one and a load of dinos and other figures aswell through an advertisement in a dealer magazine for 12 irish pounds, the best bargain I ever found, I had to get my cousin to collect it for me as it was cross country, I was waiting for it so long tho. But when i got it, it was th best thing ever, it even came with a large T-Rex, and they were quite expensive at the time.
I grew up on MOTU also aswell as Star Wars Vintage, and Thundercats, but they were more my brothers generation, and was too young to go out buying them
James Bond Jr and Jurassic Park Toy lines were more what I gew up with however. I was a 90's kid!
