Anyone else find action figures or at least other toys at rummage sales? All I find are stupid junk that are mostly old McDonalds toys of the stuff you would see on tv.
Once in awhile I'll see some actually decent stuff

I actually lucked out two weekends back and hit a sale in my area that had a boxed Centurions set, 2 boxed MASK cycles, a boxed Micronauts playset and some various loose figures. Picked up a bunch of other 80s toys too like a Mad Scientist Monster Lab and some other stuff. Got 3 large boxes of stuff for $30. Thing is you rarely run into sales like that anymore (and I hit allot of them)

It's all about the hunt. And when they ask you "Looking for anything in particular?" Tell 'em-old toys! Sometimes they dig 'em out for you.

May shoot you a pic in the next day or so.

Yeah as you can tell the fast food toys get on my tits. BUT I do get some really good scores too. Best stuff lately was Boxed complete ESB Slave 1, 7 loose G1 Headmasters, Complete set of series 1 TMNT mint. I love the hunt, but hate it too

Last year when our town had the usual Crazy Days special going on downtown and a rummage sale was going on in the garden shop at a Kleins/Coast to Cost store I saw a loose old Peter Venkman figure from the old Ghostbusters series. I passed on it since I still have my old Venkman figure.
Also when I go to a rummage sale and do a quick browse through in the toys I feel like I'm being watched by the people that run their rummage sale. They think I'm a creepy weirdo or that I have kids that I'm getting the toys for.

I might come across a score like this maybe once a year, though the thing to consider is how many garage sales it takes before it does happen (literally hundreds). Most of the time when I come across older stuff, its a figure or two here or a vehicle their.

My area is pretty good, and I have a SWEET area weekend flea market. Most of the time it's piecemeal - I think by best scores were a boxful of a guy's old GIJoe and Star Wars stuff, a guy who had about 40-50 Marvel Legends that I got for $200, and a handful of stuff here and there.
The key is to both know your areas of town and the best times to go. Diligence pays off.

I have not had a find in months. It is getting depressing. The closest thing I found to something good was a grab bag that had about 20 Batman the Animated Series Figures in it. The lot included Talia al Ghoul, Alfred, and Harley Quin.

i found a rambo (white shirt one) figure and the guy wanted like 10 dollars for it. its even more frustrating when you do run into something that vaguely resembles the 80's....and people jack up the price even when they dont know what it is...

I was in the thrift store today and there was mom looking through the bags with her boys. I heard these words come out of her mouth. "Hey look some star wars guys." I looked up and saw Amanaman, General Lando, and about 40 other figures in that bag, It had a .99 cent sticker on it. I also noticed they had another bag in their buggy which had some Karate Kid action figures.
I wish I had gotten to the thrift store a few minutes sooner.
